Message Boards: 101
A message board, also know as BBS, is a program within a website that offers a forum which allows visitors to read and post messages on the website usually on a specific subject.
Message are private, and no passwords are necessary. Users can create multiple forums within one message board. Meesage Boards can be used for various discussion and topics. Business, church organizations, schools, and small business utilize Message Boards for online collaboration within their organization.
Message Boards were initially established in the late 1980's, early 1990's.
Message boards offer repeat traffic because of the community feeling that is created. Message boards provide mechanisms for site visitors to exchange ideas , opinions, information with others who have similiar interests.
Bulletin boards, like websites are completely customizable. Users do not have to worry about advertisements, programming. It is remotely hosted and can be installed easily.
