I would like to thank you for visiting the HBCSP web site. This web site is an information and support page. Please use the links below to find information on your specific question. These sites are very credible and the most up to date that I have found. If you have another site you would like to have linked please click on the contact icon and email your suggestion. The HBCSP meets the second Tuesday of every month with the exception of June. That meeting will be held on the 3rd, that is the first Tuesday. The HBCSP also encourages anyone who is in need of support please call (918)902-6658.This line is available 24 hours, and if there isn't an answer please leave your number and your call will be returned. There are some clinical trials that have been started for those who don't have any,or limited insurance. One of the studies that I have seen that some may want to participate in is a study of the genetics of hep c. This study will help in the developement of a new hep.c vaccine. Please remember if there was a vaccine there would not be a hep.c virus for very long .If you are interested please contact NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DIABETES AND DIGESTIVE AND KIDNEY DISEASES(NIDDK)9000 ROCKVILLE PIKE BETHESDA MARYLAND 20892 U.S. RECRUITING.PATIENT RECRUITMENT AND PUBLIC LIAISON OFFICE 1-800-411-1222 OR EMAIL prpl@mail.cc.nih.gov .There is more information about trials and studies at the American Liver Foundation website just click the link and go to clinical trials in their toolbar.Recently I spoke with Morton Comprehensive Health Services to see what kind of services they could offer to uninsured people. They can offer good medical services for those who don't have insurance or limited insuarnce. Please check with the nearest office to find out more.Morton Comprehensive Health Services 603 East Pine Street Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106 Ph.587-8157 Satellite Offices:East Tulsa Family Health Center 11520E.21st Street Tulsa,OK 74129 Ph.439-4205 Mid Town Family Health Services 102 N. Denver Tulsa,OK 74103 Ph.582-8203.Today we received our first donation. The person who donated $100 dollars is John E. I would like to show my appreciation by posting his name at the next meeting so everyone will know that they have an angel of mercy who cares.THANK YOU JOHN E. FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION. GOD BLESS YOU!!!! We just recieved an article from the American Liver Foundation that was published Jan.24/03 about the CDC addressing hepatitis in the nations prisons. The CDC believes that the vaccination for hepatitis b of all prisoners regardless of risk should be done. They believe stopping hepatitis before it spreads is essential in reducing the 700 million dollars annual cost of treatment. Now all we can hope is they take the same innitiative to treat hepatitis c in the prisons and it doesn't take 25 years or more of study! For the complete report click on the ALF link below and go to news&events.
