Help Get Automobiles Legal On Our Roads!!!
LET'S GET AUTOMOBILES REGISTERED AND INSURED FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY!!!
HELP ME HELP THEM!!!
In Hawaii, like a lot of other states, it is very common for a large percentage of vehicles on the road to be untitled, unregistered and most importantly...uninsured. The courts are bogged down with individuals with outstanding traffic tickets trying to worm their way through the legal system. They HAVE to do this to survive in Hawaii and other states. A major problem is the cars themselves. Plenty are available, plenty are driveable, but they sit being unused because if the registration expires, the cost for registration adds up quickly. Average cost is $100 a year. Plus the cost of insurance is a burden for a lot of citizens. Absorbing the cost of registration and titling would enable these individuals to have the money to get their own car insurance. Some exceptions may be made to individuals who definitely cannot afford the insurance and I would help them. By providing these underprivilaged people get their automobiles legal will encourage them to get jobs and go to work. Thus, a positive environment has been created and everyone benefits!
Your response probably will be "Well, why don't they move where the cost of living is cheaper, etc". The answer is as follows: This is our home and if the cost of registration is too enourmous and the cost of insurance becomes not that important, then how could they even want to be insured and how can they afford to pack and ship their personal items or even buy a plane ticket to another state?
CAN YOU HELP?
I want to start a program to encourage these citizen's to go to work. The program's design is to pay the cost's of titling and registration if the individual can provide proof of insurance and current income level. Once they provide this proof, the Department of Motor Vehicles will be contacted for the cost of the registration. The money will be taken to the DMV by myself. No money will ever touch the indivduals hands or pockets. If we can encourage the jobless or homeless and get their cars registered and insured it will make the local economy better and most important...Car accidents would be covered, because cars are going to be insured!!!
