HISTORY OF THE TEAM & HOW IT ALL GOT STARTED
I was first interested in the sport of truck and tractor pulling when I was about six years old. It all started after I went to my first National Tractor Pullers Association Pull in Richmond, Virgina. I first got involved in truck and tractor pulling when I was fourteen years old. I started out by helping a few of the local teams out in my area. When I was helping the Pro-Street guys I knew, that was when I got the bug to have my own pulling team. I have also been around circle track racing as my cousin used to race a mini stock car as well as a late model stock car at Southside Speedway in Richmond Virginia as well as South Boston Speedway and Old Dominion Speedway. I am the son of Jimmy Rolfe and the nephew of Stuart Rolfe who used to race Limited Sportsman Stock Cars at Southside Speedway in the early to mid seventies and there car was number 12. I guess you can say racing is in my blood. The Heavy Metal pulling team got started in the year 2000. Back in the earlier years we were known as the BLUE OX pulling team because, we were pulling a bone stock Midnight Blue 1984 Chevrolet Short Bed 4WD in the 6200 LB. Street Stock Class. We have pulled the Terminator Sled, The Rebel Sled, and also some privately owned sleds at area tracks. In 2001 we started accumulating the parts that are needed to build a 6500 LB. PRO-STREET 4WD to run in the Interstate Series. We also got involed in a local pulling association as well and it is called the Virginia Truck Pullers Association. In 2006 we finally have a pulling truck that is ready to run in the Interstate series as well as the Virginia Truck Pullers Association. The truck is set-up to pull in the 6500 LB. Super Street Big Block class as well as the Interstate Series Pro-Street Class Our goal in pulling is to one day get to the National 4WD class that is sanctioned by the National Tractor Pullers Association other wise known as the NTPA.
