Before we get to the page, we have a feature:
The Hawks playoffs begun of Friday night when the 8th place Hawks faced off against the 10th place Stars. The Hawks came into this came confident of a win, and they almost had it. Let's go into some detail about this game, which featured The Cameron Family and Chris Rink, as always, in attendance.
The first period was total domination by the Hawks. They took control of the game by having 2 goals, both were scored by Steve Eisler, assisted by Brook Szabo. After that, Matthew Stone put on by, from Greg Klein, and then Greg Klein scored on a hilite reel goal, in which he went coast to coast. "What can I say, it was a nice move," said Klein of his efforts, "But I'm going to have to start scoring more goals, I only have 87 goals and 42 assists this season". This period was played on a terrible ice surface in the Mahon Arena, and was probably the only reason the lowly Hawks left to the dressing room after 1, by the score of 4-1.
The second period was the beginning of the end for your Regina House Hawks. Not only did they almost blow a 3 goal lead, they went into the 3rd up 6-3. The Stars had confidence. Everything was going their way. Chad wasn't hitting, Curtis wasn't scoring, John-Boy was sucking...the list goes on and on - not to mention #7 is a crappy hockey player too. Jake Sawa, Hawks goaltender, had a few comments during the intermission: "Think about it, this isn't the same team as the last time we played them." Right. Whatever you say, Sawa. The fact of the matter is, it was 6-3, the Hawks were still in control, right?
The third period was a complete disaster area. The Hawks were charged with numerous penalties, but the obviosly biased offical. Hawks star player, Greg Klein, started to suck, even though he had already done his part, getting 2 goals and 2 assists, thus, beating most of the team's season stats in just 2 periods. The Stars showed they had heart, as they battled back and tied the game at 6. The game ended up being tied at 6, and nobody on the Hawks could believe it. The Hawks managed to blow the lead.
