Mates or Dates?
Mates. I made some great friends while filming Ned Kelly, like Joel Edgerton. And I see Heath a bit in LA. It's been an adjustment for my mates at home, because the more publicity you do and the more your face is in magazines or on TV, the harder it is. When your friends read about you more than they get to see you, then you have to keep reassuring people that you aren't changing.
Inside or Ouside?
I really like being outdoors, because I'm a bit of an adventurer. I haven't done so much adventuring recently because of work, but I got up to a lot of stuff in New Zealand during Lord of the Rings. They had a lot on offer. I do a lot of surfing, but I didn't get to do much while I was in Australia because it was winter. I also love snowboarding; I try to get a snowboarding trip in every year.
Blondes or Brunettes?
Blimey ... I'd have to go blonde, because I had a blonde girlfriend. But actually I can't say either, because I'd take both. It's very difficult to keep a relationship going when you're not in the same country. The most romantic thing I've done was send an airline ticket from Ireland to London so she could visit me. (Newsflash: seems Orlando does indeed prefer blondes. He's apparently just hooked up with Blue Crush star Kate Bosworth.)
Tattoos or Piercings?
Tattoos. I have two: a sun below my belly button and the elvish symbol for nine on my right are, which most of The Lord of the Rings cast got. I've been thinking about getting another one, but I'm quite specific about what I want to ink myself with because they're there forever.
Letters or Email?
Letters. I am completely computer illiterate; I haven't sent an email in my entire life. That's quite bad, isn't it?
Teens or 20's?
I've preferred being in my 20's, because everything has started happening for me. Getting Lord of the Rings was like winning the lottery. I mean, imagine being flown to this amazing country and being taught how to shoot a bow and arrow, learn to ride horses and study swordsplay - it was sick! Not until I'd filmed a few scenes did I finally believe it was actually happening. It feels like the penny's dropped and it continually drops as I get older, too, which is good.
Summer or Winter?
Summer, because it's easier, isn't it? Long days are definately a bonus; I can't cope with short, cold days. England gets dark real early, so I prefer summer. I'm making a movie with Johnny Depp in the Caribbean at the moment, which is really cool. I have no complaints about working in the Caribbean. I've had a bit of down time out here,because I was brought over early and they didn't need me, so I feel like I've been on a paid vacation. The weather is beautiful but everything takes longer because they're on 'island time'.
Fact or Fiction?
Probably fact. I wasn't very well informed about the history of Ned Kelly before I signed up to do the film. But in preparation for the role, I read all the books to get my head into the character. So I really enjoyed learning about the history of the Kelly gang. There are so many different ideas about who the gang were and whether they were heroes or villains, so I took what I thought I needed in order to create the character. It was an amazing project to work on, which I think has to do with the fact that it's such a huge part of your heritage and Australian culture. There was something eerie about filming it, because we were filming in locations they'd been in.
Home or Away?
Home. London is my home and will always be my home. I may travel away, but I'll always come back - although I love being over on your side of the world. Australia has a lot to offer because it's a nice pace of life - not too slow and not too fast. The people were friendly, and I really enjoyed filming in Melbourne because there's a lot of history.

Girlfriends: Dated Joanne Morley (1996), until she left him, and later dated André Schneider (1997). It was rumored that he was briefly engaged to model Jemma Kidd. In an interview Orlando only said "I won't admit or deny anything. Makes me more interesting."
Tattoos: In addition to the Elvish tattoo shared by his LOTR costars, Orlando also has a tattoo of the sun on his torso that he got when he was 15.
What inspired his career choice: At the age of nine, Orlando had a crush on a girl. He thought he could win her over if he could fly like Superman. When he found out that Superman was an actor, he decided that acting was for him!
Who knew: He's a klutz! He has broken his back (falling out a window), his ribs (after falling off a horse during LOTR), his nose, both legs, an arm, a wrist, a finger and a toe and cracked his skull three times
