Artisan Winemaker Consultant 'Hands on Northwest'
INTRODUCTION-Welcome to Hands on Northwest Consulting Winemaker service. We're offering our services to wineries & growers of the Northwest wine growing regions. Since 1987 we have been a part of building new wineries and brands that have yielded numerous Wine Spectator Top 100/gold medal winning wines of almost every variety.
PHILOSOPHY-Hands On Northwest Consulting believes that the wine is made in the vineyard. Therefore, we place maximum importance on achieving and maintaining top quality fruit sources. On the winemaking side, we work with the owners/winemaker to determine the style of wine that best suits the fruit quality that their vineyards provide. Top quality vineyard fruit must always be one of the main goals.
BIOGRAPHY-Greg Chappell-principal of Hands On Northwest Consulting was introduced to the art of winemaking in 1979 by Andre Tchelitscheff consultant at Buena Vista Winery where Greg worked in the cellars. Followed by a 10 year stint at Sebastiani Vyds, Greg was on the winemaking staff at Sonoma Creek Winery, Cosentino Winery/Crystal Valley Cellars,Glen Ellen, Castle Vyds/Winery and Robert Mondavi Winery. He has been the winemaker at Hyatt Vyds of Yakima Valley since Oct.1998.
HANDS ON GENERAL PRACTICE-We custom design a harvest/fermentation/cellar/aging schedule for each client.Suited to their planned goals for their wines/winery.We are in our 25th very successful year of making distinctive wines of almost every type and style.We enjoy challenging situations.
