"Forensic", according to the Webster's Dictionary means, "Belonging to, used in or suitable to courts of judicature or to public discussion and debate."
"Forensic Accounting" provides an accounting analysis that is suitable to the court which will form the basis for discussion, debate and ultimately dispute resolution.
Forensic Accounting encompasses both Litigation Support and Investigative Accounting.
As forensic accountants, we utilize accounting, auditing and investigative skills when conducting an investigation. Forensic Investigations
We use specialized investigative skills in carrying out inquiries conducted in such a manner that the outcome will have application to a court of law. Our forensic investigations are grounded in accounting methods which are designed to analyzes financial information in detail. The results are documented with spreadsheets, charts, tables, etc., for presentations in litigious situations.
Forensic Audits
We examine evidence to determine its correctness in establishing defenses against determinations of regulatory agencies and other parties. An example would be a forensic audit of business income and expense records in reaching corrected taxable income during the appeal process after an IRS audit. Especially, when the accuracy of the audit is an issue.
Defense Investigator Services
A defense investigator fulfills one of the most important roles on any defense team. The investigator's job is verify and validate all that has been done by the investigating parties or enforcement agency. We will recognize where any errors or omissions have occurred and determine if all proper procedures were adhered to during the investigation. We will interview each witness and review and verify all evidence.
