FUTURE PLANS: NOS system, Stillen upgraded ECU, Stillen injectors, BLITZ Hi-Flow Intake, BLITZ Power Meter i-D, FAIRLADY Z Tail-lights (JDM), JIC exhaust system, BUDDY CLUB P1 Racing Wheels, KYB AGX Shocks-Struts, Eibiach Lowering Springs, and possibly: removal of the ol' slushbox for an MT ... Hey S13's and Hachiroku's: See you on the TOUGE!
Update: I have now decided to scrap the whole TT engine idea! It's way too expensive! Don't stone me for this... but I have decided to introduce a NOS system to my Z... I know, I know, I hate it too 'cus all those F&F boys screwed up the NOS image! But with nitrous oxide, bigger injectors and an upgraded ECU, I'll be rolling with the TT's! The system when armed works only at WOT and will deliver about 75hp! With the Hi-Flow intake, new ECU and injectors this will add up to about 300hp. Speaking of NOS, didn't you guys know that the A'PEXi FD3S, the UPGARAGE AE86 and KEI Office S15 are using nitrous in D1GP?
Welcome my new touge crew: The Crazy 88's Touge Team! We are few now... but plan on recruiting more soon. Pix of all cars will be posted here soon. An S13 and a Mini Cooper are rumored to join. Anyone in the INLAND EMPIRE or HI-DESERT area in So.Cal. wanting to apply for membership, please contact me. More details soon.
About me and the Touge: You can find me and my Touge Monster at Angeles Crest passing through Wrightwood or Big Bear on the weekends (when it's not freaking snowing). Some of the best curves in California belong to Angeles. With an AT I cannot see much of dynamic drifting (although when I get fast enough on a corner... my rear slides out a little) so it's grip driving for me! Maybe when I get an MT my Z32 will see some drifting action!
Nomuken Nomura is my IDOL! Who else can drift a heavy beast like an ER34 Four Door SKYLINE? If you have not seen him in action, please do so at the next D1 event! I have been to both D1 events in IRWINDALE and will never miss it when it's in town!
I have always loved SKYLINEs and FAIRLADYs. They have a style that is unforgetable. The power is good too! We cannot exactly get Skyline's over here, so the 300zx was the next best car! I just wanted to seperate myself from the rest of these kiddies who are now snatching up FC3S's and S13's. So I did something different and created (creating) a Touge Spec. Monster! Sure she is non-turbo and automatic (for now)... but it's different! How many Z32's do you see nowadays? Too bad they released the TT 2+2's in Japan only... I love the longer wheelbase on my car. It looks much more sleeker than the coupe.
Touge Racing, Drifting and Highway Racing: Kids in Japan took to the secluded mountains to race and soon mastered the curves that they later would see as pro's. Racing/driving in the mountains is very exciting and tests true skill of drivers! Many Japanese pro drivers/drifters admit that they honed there skills on the TOUGE. There is no room for error on the mountain passes. A skilled ex-touge driver looks beyond the present corner to the next, always aware of his/her surroudings. Taking the correct racing line may put you at risk of oncoming traffic. Honing your skill on the TOUGE may make you a better, more alert driver.
Drifting became a skill used by touge-racers to get around a corner quicker without losing too much speed. Soon it became a pasttime to show one's ability of complete car control from a frantic slide. Now drifting has become what we know in D1GP and in various events across the world!
Highway racing, along with Touge racing is becoming more popular than ever before in Japan because Street Drifting and Street Drag has caught the eye of Yoshi Law. The authorities are aware of the many accidents and fatalaties rising on public streets. Road bumps and police patroling has increased in all the areas known for drifting or drag racing (much like here in the US). So highway racing is becoming more popualar. Imagine an R34 GTR and JZA80 SUPRA going at it weaving around huge Hino trucks! In some areas, traffic violations, such as speeding is monitored by camera (but if you blow by these fast enough they will not catch your license-plate). But beware of the GTR patrol cars!
It's my dream to compete in RALLY racing! I hope to attend a racing school and become credited. I hope to join the SCAA and hopefully bring home some wins! Then I'll compete in WRC (y'right!). I plan to purchase a used Impreza WRX someday specifically for rally. But of course I will have my SKYLINE GTS before that! Keep an eye out for me in RALLY in the future!
I have read much about Japan and hope of one day finally visiting... I hope one day I can visit my friend, Mike in Okinawa and ride shotgun in his FD while performing a drift down a Japanese Mountain Pass...
Drive Safe, Drift Safe!
