[He is Henry Houldsworth Grierson, b. Aug. 22, 1836, Perth, Dunblane, Scotland - listed as the son of John Grierson & Jane Houldsworth] (International Genealogical Index, batch film no., C113486, serial sheet no., 1168.)
(2) Jack Grierson, who died in Russia.
(3)_______? a daughter who married ________? Alexander, a Clergyman, Stirling, Scotland.
(4) ________? a daughter who married ________? Smith & emigrated to America.

Of the three (3) issue listed above, Robert Grierson (Clergyman); William Grierson (Carpet Manufacturer) & John Grierson (Clergyman of Dunblane) -
We now continue the line with [Henry] William Grierson (Carpet Manufactuer) of Bridgeworth? [Henry] William Grierson died on October 31st, 1854 - [Henry] William Grierson married BETSEY BROWN & it is recorded that they had issue known, viz.:
(1) James Grierson (Carpet Manufacturer), Bridgeworth, married _______?
(2) Robert [William] Grierson, (a note - now in Sydney, [New South Wales], Australia, - we know him to be (Town Clerk, Redfern, New South Wales, Australia), - according to his family history, he was born c1857; died c1947; married ANNIE DEE and I think her father was with Cobb & Company and may have been a Convict.
Robert William Grierson, (b. c1857) & his wife, Annie Dee had issue known, five, viz.:
(A) Robert John Vincent Grierson, b. c1895, Sydney, NSW, Australia; married EDITH ANNE PROUTING, b. 1902 - still living - will be 100 years old in November, 2002. She was born in London, England. Robert John Vincent Grierson, b. 1895 & his wife, Edith Anne Prouting had at least, issue two, viz.:
(1) Judith Anne Grierson, b. 1927, Adelaide, married REGINALD GEORGE ATKINSON. Judith Anne Grierson & Reginald George Atkinson had issue five, viz.:
(A) R. Paul Atkinson, (B) Carolyn Atkinson, (C) Glen Atkinson, (D) Louise Atkinson, (E) Leigh Atkinson.
(2) Ross Ian Grierson, b. 1930, Adelaide; married NOELA HUGHES; Ross died October 2nd, 2002, Wednesday (heart failure) buried October 7th, 2002.
Ross Ian Grierson & Noela Hughes had issue four, viz.:
(A) Robert William Grierson, b. 1964 (twin of Ross Douglas), married Doris Alexand nee DAY & they have issue four, viz.: [February, 2006]

(C) Lachlan Hugh MacGregor Grierson, b. 1972 - he married Paula Jean nee ANSTEY & they have issue two, [February, 2006]

(2) Liam Hugh MacGregor Grierson, b. 2006.
(D) Cameron Matthew Grierson, b. 1984.

May 13th, 1910, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; married ELLA DOREEN KELLY; enlisted in the Australian Army, service number QX4182 - enlistment date was October 20th, 1939 at Hamilton, Queensland, Brisbane, Australia; discharged on August 23rd, 1944 with the rank of Sergeant - Posting at discharged was 2/9 Battalion.

(1) Margaret Winifred Grierson who married David Thomas Fleming. Margaret Winifred Grierson & David Thomas Fleming had at least, issue one, viz.:
(A) Paul Robert Fleming, who changed his surname to Paul Grierson, [Culture of MacGregor].
(E) Mary Grierson; had one daughter and one son [Henry] William Grierson married BETSEY BROWN & it is recorded that they had issue known, viz.:(continued).....

(4) John Grierson (Lawyer), b. January 16th, 1816; died January 26th, 1882, Christchurch, New Zealand; married ELIZABETH BIRD on March 24th, 1842; & emigrated to New Zealand in 1864 (family has diary) Ship: BRITISH EMPIRE.
(5) Charles Grierson (Merchant & Shipbroker) London, England; married a Russian woman by the name of Emily _______?
(6) Hannah Grierson, married _______? Smith, (Clergyman), Ashkirk, Hawick, Scotland, perhaps d.s.p.,
(7) Laura Grierson, married (Clergyman) ________? Jackson.
(8) Elizabeth (aka Lizzie) Grierson; married young, perhaps d.s.p., (9) Phoebe Grierson, died young, nothing further.
(10) Madge Grierson, unmarried, nothing further,
(11) William Grierson, b. c1814; died November 22nd, 1825.
(12) Hannah Grierson (single) Linguist & interpreter in World War I; also secretary at Peace conference.

We continue the Griersons of Barjarg Tower with the fourth (4th) listed child of (William Grierson & Betsey Brown) continued....
John Grierson, b. January 26th, 1816, Bridgenorth, ; died January 26th, 1882, Christchurch, New Zealand; married ELIZABETH BIRD, b. February 23rd, 1823 & died September 30th, 1905, Christchurch, New Zealand; marriage was in Wales.
John Grierson (Lawyer) emigrated (believed to have come from Wales) as emigrants to New Zealand on board Ship: BRITISH EMPIRE to Christchurch, New Zealand in 1864.
(A) Charles Brown Grierson, b. January 7th, 1843, Wales; married SUSAN MARY GRACE MERRIMAN, b. November 3rd, 1851; died 1934 on marriage date May 26th, 1871, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Charles died August 16th, 1901.
Charles Brown Grierson & Susan Mary Grace Merriman had at least, issue six known, viz.:
(1) Violet Grierson, b. November 8th, 1872; died December 25th, 1917; married February 22nd, 1897 to HENRY HERBERT READ BLOOMFIELD.
(2) Douglas Charles Merriman Grierson, b. October 31st, 1875; died March 4th, 1876,
(3) Arthur Robert Grierson, b. May 12th, 1878, not married,
(4) Percy Ware Grierson, b. c1881 (lost to history), married to DOROTHY CHAPMAN,
(5) Ethel Vonderverk Grierson, b. December 21st, 1883; married ____? Tuckey.
(6) Elizabeth Grierson, b. July 8th, 1893; married CHARLES GRIFFITHS,
(B) Fanny Elizabeth Grierson, b. June 7th, 1844; married January 16th, 1873 to LLEWELYN POWELL & he died October 4th, 1879.
(C) Lucy Grierson, b. January 31st, 1846; died May 18th, 1942; married May 12th, 1870 to REGINAL FOSTER who died in 1910.
(D) Rose Grierson, b. October 25th, 1847; died October 10th, 1937; married October 9th, 1878 to BARIOIS METCALF, b. May 5th, 1831; died July 18th, 1888.
(E) Trevor James Grierson, April 25th, 1849; died September 21st, 1913; married July 10th, 1897 to JEANNIE STEVENSON, a widow who died April 18th, 1938.
(F) Harry William Grierson, b. November 12th, 1850; died December 4th, 1851,
(G) Alice Mary Grieson, b. April 3rd, 1852; died April 13th, 1854. (H) Laura Stonehouse Grierson, b. December 31st, 1853; unmarried,
(I) Gertrude Hannah Grierson, b. August 18th, 1855; died 1931, aged 74 years; married ALFRED JAMES MERTON who died December 19th, 1882. (J) Margaret (aka Maggie) Ellen Grierson, b. August 22nd, 1857; died September 13th, 1915, unmarried.
(K) Emily Maud Mary Grierson, b. July 18th, 1859; married BENJAMIN PIERCE and died on November 26th, 1933 - Emily Maud Mary Grierson was adopted by Madge Vonderverk (an Aunt) and took that surname.
(L) John Frederick William Grierson, b. May 16th, 1861; died September 29th, 1945; married October 20th, 1887 to ELLA SOPHIA COOK, b. November 12th, 1864; died December 11th, 1950.
His personal history states that "John F. Grierson was a manager of the Victoria Insurance Company, was born in CARDIFF, WOUTH WALES, United Kingdom in 1861, and came to New Zealand in September, 1861, in the Ship: "British Empire," one of the largest ships ever to the colony. He was educated at Christ's College and joined the Union Bank in 1876. In 1877 he left the Bank and entered the National Insurance Company, where he remained twelve years and was chief clerk for (6) six years. In 1890 he was appointed manager of the Victoria Insurance Company (Fire Marine and Guarantee) in place of Messrs Dalgety & Co., who resigned the agency which they had held for several years."
