In a letter dated February 11th, 2006, from Philip John Hamilton-Grierson of "PITLUNDIE" concerning the Griersons of Larbreck - with other items noting the receipt of three envelopes - the 2nd envelope "Trousseau taken out by (Colonel) [James] Grierson - Sundries sent home from America:
"Sundry Articles Sent home by (Sir) Patrick R. Houstoun, Baronet and The (Reverend) James Seymour - Executors of the Last Will and Testament of (Colonel) [James] Grierson - who was Cruelly Murdered after the Surrender of (Colonel) Browns' Fort at Augusta the 7th June, 1781" --
