Growing Up On The Farm

Jack was ten years old
And grew up on the Farm
with alot of chores to do
and milking cows in the Barn..

The Farm was in McDonough,
where plenty of kids did live,
With Elmer And Vie's children,
And so much love to give..

Summer time was fun,
The Fall was Beautiful too,
With the different colored leaves,
Covered up with dew..

He used to ride his bicycle,
To visit Mom and Dad,
Only to find a note on the door,
That they had moved instead.

So being raised on the Farm
Felt more like home,
Being raised with other kids,
He never felt alone..

This was his life he always remembered,
Talked about the good times,
Brought up on the Farm
Jumping in the hayloft out of the Barn.

Although he's gone now
From this worlds he's Free,
Only to be in Gods arms,
Is where he'll always be..

When Your Taken Away

Hold on to who you have,
They're not going to be here forever,
You won't know whats missing
until you're never again together..
You never know what you got
Until it's taken away,
Take all the time you have
And say all you need to say...
Don't count on another Day,
For today might be your last,
You don't know what you've missed,
Until it's in the past..
Never hesitate to make him smile,
It may be the last one you see,
Make sure he knows you,
Instead of who you want to be...
Let him feel your love
And don't play guessing games,
Always say you're sorry
When it's yours to take the blame..
Don't ever feel ashamed
To tell about your fears,
Don't ever turn away
When your face shows tears...
Don't be afraid,
If you love him let it show,
Don't assume at all
Because he may never have known...
Out of all the mistakes I made,
These were the worst to say,
You never know what you had
Until it's taken away..
