Grace Reformed Baptist Church - Pastor DJ Dickey - Vernonia (Portland),
Oregon

Grace Reformed Baptist in Vernonia, Oregon began about 15 years ago. They
came out of a Bible Church having laid the foundation with the Doctrines of
Grace. With the assistance of other Reformed Pastors, they were introduced
to
Reformed doctrine and the Lord has put together a small work there in
Vernonia. The church now has about 30 members and the Lord continues to
bring other families through relocation. Vernonia is a small bedroom
community of Portland, Oregon. DJ Dickey has been in the community 25 years
and have raised all six of his children there. His children are all married
and
four of them live with their spouses here in Vernonia, as you can see a
large portion of the congregation are inter-related!

Walter G. Groover - Merida, Yucatan, Mexico
Walter Groover extends thanks to those who are supporters in prayer as they
are motivated by the love of Christ. They began last year of the Preachers
School with 15 and 11 closed the end of the year with them. September
classes resumed, please pray for these men to be raised up to be Pastors and
teachers of the Word of His grace.
In the second week of June, Cody Groover, Walter's son and also a
missionary in Mexico made a trip to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Walter reported from his letter found on his web page that "four of the
churches here in Yucatan have done a lot of major construction work on the
improvement of their buildings in Calcehtok, Yobain and in Tekal."
Remember to lift up in prayer Walter and Cody as they continue to sow,
water, and reap the fruits of God's grace in the Yucatan and elsewhere in
the Caribbean. As Walter put it, "It is still a challenge for us and I
continue to keep trying to preach the Gospel of God's glory that He purposed
in Christ before the foundation of the world. Although I am never satisfied
with anything I do, I know that He cannot fail in the purpose of His
Sovereign grace in Christ Jesus, and that He shall see the travail of His
soul and be satisfied."

Rudy Perdigon - Grace Bible Church - San Diego and desires to go to Baguio
City in the Philippines
Rudy Perdigon, an elder of Grace Bible Church in the San Diego (Escondido),
California area desires to go to Baguio City in the Philippines. The
church's place of meeting is at the Baguio Colleges
Foundation, Rm 238. This is only good in the morning, in the afternoon they
meet at the 2nd Floor of Presby's at Abanao St.
Jim Newheiser, Pastor of Grace Bible Church had this to say of Rudy's trip
to the Philippines. "Rudy Perdigon's trip to the Philippines has been
blessed with many positive contacts and opportunities. There also has been
stiff opposition from the Bible Baptists, with whom he had enjoyed much
fellowship in the past. He returned to the US at the
end of August, and may quickly go back to the Philippines on a more
permanent basis. We have enjoyed good co-operation with the Reformed
Baptist Church in Cubao (Manila) which is planting a church with which Rudy
hopes to work in Baguio City."

Steve and Naime Phillips - Also of Grace Bible Church
The Elders of Grace Bible Church are also preparing to send Steve and Naime
Phillips to Spain next Summer. Steve graduated from Westminster in
California in May (1999). The plan is for him to spend a year as a full
time intern in order to hone and prove his gifts and calling before the
congregation. He led a short term missions trip to a Navajo reservation
earlier this summer. He is now emphasizing work in evangelism and
discipleship in preparation for his work in Spain. He and Naime plan to
visit Spain this fall to help determine where they could best serve. They
have been in touch with a few different men/situations.
