Grace Prayer Bulletin # 60
June 13, 1999

Pastor A.T. Indonesia - Persecution in Indonesia - follow up A request from Indonesia is prayer for the leadership of the Churches. Pastor A.T. (name withheld until for his security) has requested guidance in
God's will for the Elders among the Churches. There is fear if the Islamic fundamentalist win this election that troubles and persecution will multiply. On the other hand if nationalist party win, we can still free to
worship and share the Gospel. Pastor A.T. shared "We need God's wisdom and courage to share the Gospel and teach people." Due to the persecution many Believers have left to Singapore, Pastor A.T. travels a few Sundays a month now to Singapore to minister to the believers there. This has been going on
since last November.
As reported last week over 550 churches have been burnt over the past few years. In a period of 1 year over 250 churches were burnt. These churches are essentially made up of Chinese Believers. The last report in Singapore was that on May 16, 140 people came to the Reformed Baptist church as Pastor A.T. spoke. Beginning August 1999, Rev. Stephen Tong will preach every week in Singapore. On Monday evening, he will give bible exposition in Chinese.
On Tuesday evening, he will give lecture for prepare people to be missionaries to Chinese world (China Mainland). Pastor A.T. will assist until the end of 1999 in Singapore. In Indonesia Pastor A.T.'s Church is averaging 60-70 weekly, even with many leaving for Singapore this Church which is two and a half years old is still prospering. We rejoice that God is giving the increase as He sees fit. There are a few with Islamic backgrounds and many who come from a Buddhist heritage. There are many in this Church being trained and there is also now another who is assisting Pastor A.T. in the church. Along with this help the church is planting a new church in an Indonesian city just a few miles a way, the services began here May seventh, this church has begun with twelve in attendance the first week. Remember Pastor AT with the burden of these three churches. In a remarkable statement Pastor A.T. in closing his letter to Erroll Hulse he mentioned another work. He says, "Do you still remember STT Arastamar (SETIA) who adopted 1689 conf. Now, this Seminary has 600 students. They have started more than 200 churches in remote places. Please pray for this seminary too."
May this humble our hearts in God's infinite wisdom and grace. I will contact Pastor A.T. and if I can give you his name and email in a future date I will do so.

Michael and Marie Brunk- Candidates to Missions in South Africa
The Brunks have in the past two months put on over 4,000 miles on their car visiting churches. They have been in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and in New England. They have met many friends as God has been faithful to meeting their needs granting safety as they travel. They are asking prayer for continued safety travel, new opportunities to witness in their travels, and the Lord's leading of Mike in His Postal job and wisdom for when to sever the ties there. They ask pray for South Africa they ask for petitions to be lifted for Isaac, Albert, Johannes, and Warren; these men are being currently trained for leadership. Also prayer for Pastors Leonard Schmidt and Mike Neilson, as well as how they (the Brunks) will fit in the work when they arrive.

Baruch Maoz - Israel - "A DAY OF PASTORAL VISITS"
Baruch was away from Israel and in the USA for two months raising awareness HaGefen (CWI) overseas, he says "I will be spending two or three days a week in the next few months visiting congregations, generally with a translator (I never visit alone). There are a number of contacts from Russia and other former Soviet States. One contact Lumilla is losing her leg just below the knee and she has lost her baby at the sound of this tragic news. Her husband gave up his job to take of her needs and the debt continues to grow. They are rich though in the things of Christ and are rejoicing in him. Baruch says, "I walked away challenged, humbled and rebuked: do I have such a confidence in God?" Baruch as any missionary faces challenges that are as a result of the corrupt world we live in. Pray for Baruch as he deals with these problems that Christ would be honored amongst those in Tel-Aviv.
