Persecutions in Indonesia
We have received news that 550 churches in Indonesia have been burnt and the brethren we have contact with are rejoicing as there seems to be a much rejoicing through this all. More as details become available. (I have received some more info and will include in next weeks Bulletin, Lord willing).

Brian Ellis from the Philippines to Singapore
Brian Ellis, missionary to the Philippines is currently in Singapore, and will be there until the fourteenth of this month. Brian will be teaching a Men's Theological Class on the Lord's Supper. Brian will also be teaching five messages on the 'emotions' at the Shalom Reformed Baptist Church Retreat as well as Lord's Day services in two churches on two Lord's Days. Brian would value your prayers that he will be able to minister faithfully the Word of God and that it will be to the glory of our Lord.

Another Report from Kosovo
Bob Selph (RBMS) spoke with Cedo Ralevic in Yugoslavia (Kosovo) recently. Bob reports, "They are tired. The trouble has not let up. Bombs fall night and day. They are sleep-deprived. The shrapnel from the bombs is falling on their church. Their electricity keeps going off for two or three days at a time. They have no way to cook or refrigerate during those times. Simo is safe, according to reports Cedo gets.... There is the hope that Cedo will be able to meet Dick Walton at the border next week to transfer supplies from Bulgaria to our precious brethren in Serbia from the funds we have sent over. Let us pray for all the obvious needs these saints have. Let us pray for the success of the Gospel. Cedo cannot speak loud enough for all the people who are coming to church to hear his preaching. Many stand outside who cannot find room enough inside the church building. Our brethren in Christ are displaying tremendous faith in the face of such tragic trouble.
Let us pray for them. (Note: We rejoice in an apparent peace agreement reached there).

Grace Baptist Church; Christchurch, New Zealand
We rejoice with Daffydd Hughs who received word this last week that he will be able to stay on as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church. Twenty-three months after he applied for a permanent residence visa he received his. He had three months left on his current work visa. He expressed thanks to all who have lifted up prayers and gave encouragement during this time of waiting. Please continue to pray for Grace Baptist as they shine as lights for His glory in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Opening doors in Cuba?
Cuba has seen some large meetings of evangelicals in the recent weeks and they are more scheduled. The hope is that these meetings will lead to a more permanent freedom in Cuba. Mark Summers of HCJB in Quito, Equador has spent time in training national Pastors in Cuba the last few years. Pray that Mark may have more and more open meetings. Also, Mark Summers reported that there were 22 Church leaders from the
Tumaco, Colombia who came for more leadership training May 17-21. Due to recent violence in Colombia the Colombians agreed to come to Equador for the safety of the trainers. They were much enthused with what they learned.
Please pray for wisdom for our Christian brothers who live in the constant tension of being caught between the government and the guerrilla forces. Also in Equator, Mark relayed, "May 25-29 APOYO members participated in the first National Evangelical Pastors convention. It was so encouraging to hear and see the desire of evangelical leaders to make a difference in our country. PRAY for the Christian Education team as they go to the coastal cities of Babahoyo and Milagro June 6-13. Tim and Onilda Broach, Nancy Cortez, and Pablo Perez will be teaching seminars on Active/Interactive Teaching and learning."

Jonathan Blosser in Sicily
As noted in a previous Grace Prayer Bulletin, Chiesa Battista Calvario (Calvary Baptist Church) in Sicily had lost their meeting place. Jonathan sent a note this week sharing that "the LORD guided our pastors steps to a piece of property with a house on it which is for sale. It is a 7,000 square meter lot (almost 2 acres) and the house is in excellent condition. The price is 140,000,000 Italian lire, which is 15,000,000 more than we have
in our building fund. The owner, however, is willing to close with a 120,000,000 lire payment and then sign a private agreement to accept payments of 1,000,000 lire/month for twenty months. (Right now $1.00 =3D 1800 lire.) We are very excited, and it seems that this is the place that the LORD would have us to buy. We have given the land owner a go-ahead and are now waiting for him to generate the necessary documents for the sale. Please pray that everything will go smoothly for us. We will be having a picnic and our Sunday service on the property this week.
