Grace Prayer Bulletin # 49

Grace Prayer Bulletin # 49March 28, 1999
First may we request that if you know of Missionaries who are teaching the
doctrines of Grace in their mission field and have not access to email drop
their letter off to us. We will transcribe a normal size letter and offer
it to any via email to those who want to pray for them. We will create a
separate list for these missionaries so one could receive everything these
missionaries give us. This of course will also be the opportunity of any
missionary who also had email. This week we need to do some follow up, first here is a part of a short
letter from Pastor Oscar Arocha of IGLESIA BAUTISTA DE LA GRACIA in the
Dominican Republic.
We thank God for the several churches in the United States who have so
generously helped us. The brethren who have been recipients of your
generosity thank you, too!
Hundreds of families and brethren were relieved by the aid received. The
distributed total was: US$50,000.00; 53,500 pounds of food and medicine, and
14,000 pounds of clothing. We remind you of the words of King Solomon: "He
who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has
given" (Pro.19: 17).Secondly, From Robert Briggs,
Report on Germany
Dear Brethren
It is with great thankfulness to God and great rejoicing in Him that I
bring this report on the work in Germany. My schedule was very busy with some 16 visits over four days encouraging
some who have been a part of this work since it began and meeting others
who have recently began attending since my last visit in July 1998.I rejoice to report that there is evidence of spiritual growth and maturing
in the things of Christ. There is a definite evidence of the Lord in the
midst bringing these people together as a New Covenant community. We had a set back with the civil court regarding the registration of the
work as a legal body. There are few other things that need to be done in
connection with the constitution of the church before they will accept it.
These things are now being worked on and should be done by May when I plan
to return along with Pastor Rick Bawcom of Sacramento. On the Lord's Day of my visit I preached on 'The Life of David and the
blessings of Divine Sovereignty' from 1 Samuel 23. I then taught through
Chapter 12 of the 1689 on 'Adoption'. The people were appreciative of the
ministry and it was good to see around 60-65 in attendance. We have set the date for the church to covenant together as August 1 and
all who desire to do this are now writing out their testimony for
consideration. It is an exciting and encouraging time for these dear
saints. It was also encouraging to meet two other men who have a love for the
doctrines of grace and are at various stages of Reformation.Pastor Karsten Ernst and Pastor Audey Shephard visited with us Lord's Day
morning and we were able to interact about their various situations. Please pray -
a.For the work on the constitution to be done so as to have it accepted by
the civil court.
b.For the preparation of testimonies and the discerning of who shall be
founder members of this work.
c.For the continual spiritual growth of the little flock and for the future
recognition of officers.
d.For the developing contacts with Pastors Ernst and Shephard.
e.For the possibility of translating and publishing Ted Tripp's book
'Shepherding a child's heart'. (Any help in this project would greatly
appreciated). It will cost about 30,000DM.Yours sincerely
