Grace Prayer Bulletin # 46

A ministry of The King's Chapel

Grace Prayer Bulletin # 46

3-7-99

This week we will be looking at three groups and individuals of people who
will be traveling to minister in lands "foreign" to them.

First going to Germany is Pastor Robert Briggs, Pastor of the Reformed
Baptist Church of Magherafelt, Northern Ireland.

Dear Brethren,

I am writing to request your prayers for my imminent trip to Germany to
Thursday 4 March through Tuesday 9 March.
As many of you may know we are involved in a joint gospel venture with
Immanuel Baptist Church, Sacramento in seeing a church raised up to the
glory of God in the German town of Wetzlar, located 1 hour north of
Frankfurt. We believe that God is doing great things for us whereof we are
glad.
This will be my third trip since our church voted in November 1997 to help
our American cousins in this work. I visited in February and July of 1998
and we rejoiced to have three of the fellowship visit us in the summer of
1998.
There are now around 65 (including children) meeting every Lord's Day in a
rented building and much work has been done over the last couple of years
to the point that we hope to see this work covenant as a church in August
of this year.
The main aim of my visit this time is to visit with many of the new people
who have began attending in order to establish where they are at in regard
to understanding what belonging to a Reformed Baptist Church involves. I
will also be ministering the word on the Lord's Day morning and teaching on
the 1689 Confession of Faith in the afternoon on Chapter 12.
One very exciting and encouraging development is the contact made with
another group of believers near Stuttgart who have been going through
reformation and who have apparently embraced the doctrines of grace. I hope
to meet with the brother who leads this work.
My five day schedule is well filled. I have around sixteen oversight
meetings planned for this time plus a trip to the German court in order to
have the work in Wetzlar legally registered as we render unto Caesar that
which he requires.
I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord is doing in this poor and
needy land of Germany. Please pray -

1. For safe travel throughout my trip,
2. For spiritual and mental strength and wisdom in all my pastoral
interaction.
3. For success at court, that everything would be passed without problem.
4. For the ministry of the word on the Lord's Day as I preach through
translator.
5. For good to come out of the meeting with our brethren from Stuttgart.

Yours in Christ

Pastor Robert Briggs

Dear Friends:

Next week's message is being sent early due to my ministry out
of the country March 5-16, Deo volente. I will minister with Todd Nibert
(Lexington, Kentucky) and Gary Shepard (Jacksonville, North Carolina) on
Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and then I will minister on Saint Lucia,
West
Indies. Your prayers would be appreciated.
Your servant for Jesus' sake,

From Noble Vater, Missionary Pastor to Puerto Rico.

Dear friends,

This is being sent as a final reminder to those of you who pray, to
remember me as I make the preparations to go to Haiti with Pastor Francisco
Gunman and Luis Sean and our translator, who I believe will be Jan Pierre
Caws.
I leave next Tuesday March 9 for Santo Domingo. On Wednesday the 10th we
have a one day trip by truck to get to our destination. On Thursday and
Friday, 2 hr. of classes each day by me and also 2 hours by Luis Sean.
Besides we will be preaching in various churches, especially on the Lord's
Day when we finish the ministry there for this trip. Monday the 15th should
bring us back to Santo Domingo, then the following day, I head back to San
Juan. All of this subject to the good pleasure of the God Who works all
things for good to those who love Him.

1. Please pray the Lord would keep us safe and preserve us from sickness.
2. Pray that we would be able to teach and preach with the power and
blessing of the Spirit of God, and that the proclamation would issue in
growth in knowledge and grace, and in conversions of sinners.
3. Pray that the Lord would bless the literature and tapes we are carrying
along and that we will see long term benefits from this whole ministry. We
are thankful for the response of many in supplying our needs for
literature.
May our God be praised for your fellowship in the gospel of our Lord.

Yours by the everlasting mercies of our God,

Noble Vater
