Grace Prayer Bulletin #40

KOLLI HILLS-637 411.
Namakkal Dt,SOUTH INDIA.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Greetings to you in the most precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am a Hindu convert. When I was a medical student in the year 1972 the Lord saved me. It was in an Arminian church. After my studies I entered in the ministry in the year 1981.In the year 1984 while reading the book 'Faith check book' by Spurgeon, I was introduced to the amazing word 'GRACE.' It was the starting point of my search of the doctrines of grace. By the amazing grace of the Lord I was helped to study in the London Reformed Baptist Seminary of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, London in the year 1990. I was rooted and grounded in the doctrines of grace there.
After my return to India my preaching was different. I started pioneering reformed Baptist Churches. At present I am pioneering a Reformed Baptist church in a city called Salem in the SOUTH INDIA.I am also helping in the pioneering ministry in a tribal mountain called Kolli hills which is about 100 kilometers from Salem city. I am training the brother who is laboring in Kolli hills in the reformed doctrine. I started pioneering the church in Kolli hills in the year 1986. In India almost all the churches are ecumenical and or charismatic. My humble burden and prayer is that the Lord should raise up many Reformed Baptist churches in India. The church in Salem city was started pioneering by me since 1994.This church is gradually building up. The church membership has not yet started. At present they are learning the doctrines of grace. We follow the 1689 confession of faith. We publish two magazines called 'Biblical Christianity' in two languages ,English and Tamil, an Indian language and is being sent to different parts of India. There is a good response for it. They are A4 sized 12 pages magazines. They are quarterly magazines upholding the doctrine of grace. We hope that you will be interested in this humble work. Dear brothers, sisters please pray for us. Let His name be glorified in this part of the world. It is a great joy and privilege to us to have fellowship with you who hold the same glorious biblical doctrine which we hold. If you have books and tapes please send them. We would like to know about your church and ministry. I am 46 years old married having two children Joel[14 yrs.]and Johannah [13 yrs.].They study in the high school. My wife Naomi is a great help to me in the ministry. LOOKING FOR YOUR EARLY REPLY. My E-mail address is [].
Yours by His grace alone,
David Elangovan.

Dear praying friends,
Thank you all for your prayers for what I described in the last letter as a Christmas "party". The Lord wonderfully answered prayer and over 100 people came, one couple from over 50 miles away! As expected, several of the guests were Jewish. We believe that several were touched by the message. One young man who, a year ago had returned a Bible that he had been offered, saying "don't ever speak to me about the subject again", not only came but helped prepare and serve the food, making himself very useful - almost as if he was part of the organizing committee.
Others commented on the sincerity of those taking part and of the spirit of commitment. One lady asked for a Bible and for a Christian calendar. We do praise God for these encouragement's and look to him to bring fruit to the seed that was sown. We are now in the process of making a list of those who were there so as to be able to pray more intelligently for them. We now plan to organize an "Open Doors" in March - theme yet to be determined, so as to be able to invite them all back for a more "classical" presentation of the gospel message.
Thank you again for your prayers.

This is a follow up on the Roman Catholic series we did two weeks ago. It is from Michael Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel, which as you will see reaches out to Catholics and trains others to do so.
Proclaiming the Gospel
Prayer and Praise Report
January 1999
1. We begin the new year praising God for the opportunity to serve and glorify Him by proclaiming His glorious gospel of grace! We praise God for the many opportunities He gave us in 1998 to equip the saints to be effective as His ambassadors. We also praise Him for His provision and for meeting all of our needs through the gracious gifts of His faithful servants.
2. Our first newsletter of the year will be mailed next week. We pray God will use it to accomplish His purpose in planting the seeds of His Word to save sinners while strengthening believers and glorifying His Holy Name!
3. The five part video teaching series that we have been working on will be finished next week. Please pray that God would superintend the final shots and final editing as well as the duplication and distribution of the series. The titles of the five sessions are tape 1 - Another Jesus, Another Gospel filmed at Dallas Theological Seminary, tape 2 - Equipping the Saints; tape 3 - Understanding Roman Catholicism; tape 4 - Tradition Vs. Scripture; and tape 5 - Apostasy and Ecumenical Unity.
4. Please pray for the upcoming ExCatholics for Christ Conference and banquet scheduled for Mar 26-27 at Countryside Bible Church in Southlake, Texas. The theme of the conference is ECT + 5, a look at the Evangelicals and Catholics Together Accord five years after its signing. Please pray that those who signed it would repent and remove their names from the accord, and the people they influence would not be deceived by a compromised gospel.
5. Please pray for our spiritual protection as we use God's truth to expose the lies of the evil one. We are well aware of the schemes the devil uses in an attempt to destroy the testimony of God's servants. Please pray also for Cheryl Schupbach, our web master, our Board of Directors and all the others who are involved in the ministry of Proclaiming the Gospel.
Blessings,
Mike Gendron
