I would like to recommend a web site which I believe is very beneficial for personal worship. It has great articles and a good midi styled file for the music of the church. I would strongly0 encourage you to visit this site. If you do not internet access, visit and brother's home with the request to view this site with them. It is the most balanced site I have seen on the web.
Now to the business at hand. Hurricane Mitch has devastated Honduras. When I received a note this week from Pastor Arocha, I wanted to forward this to you. It is am opportunity for us to pray for a specific need in
this hurricane destroyed nation. Here is his letter.
Pastor Arocha, from Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia in Santiago, Dominican Republic
Dear Brethren:
This Friday, January 8th, Pastor Arocha, from Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia in Santiago, Dominican Republic, will travel to Honduras for 15 days. Pastor Arocha, Pastor Wilfredo Velez from Puerto Rico and pastor
Perry from US will travel together with five brethren and a team of doctors from John Hopkins University. The purpose is to deliver aid to the victims of Hurricane Mitch. Pastor Arocha and Pastor Velez will bring words of comfort and evangelistic sermons to people from several churches. "And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed" (Acts
21:5).
The Apostle Paul went from his knees to the ship. In the same way we desire to enter the plane from our praying knees.
Please pray:
1) That God's mercy would keep us safely all these traveling days.
2) That Christ's compassion would move our heart to serve.
3) That the Spirit of Grace would give us to speak boldly. That at least one soul would come to repentance.
4) That we would be kept free from illness. We have received reports of cholera.
5) Wisdom to distribute the aid adequately and a diligent spirit in construction work.

Prem Waghmare’s Situation - December 1998
Dear praying friends:
I have been learning to deeply appreciate your partnership, your labor of love, and your diligence in upholding us at the Throne of Grace. Many times we feel that we are like a loner crying out in the barren land with no one there to respond. Yet, our hope is not in human ingenuity, programs, or methods, but in "God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1Cor 15:57), .. thou shall call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins" (Matt 1:21).
As He is causing you to intercede on our behalf, we are allowed to experience His liberty and boldness to preach and teach "the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believes." Many times my plans are interrupted with unexpected visitors. Here you can never tell when people may drop by for a visit, as this is common in the Indian culture. I do set my plans, but being at His disposal, I am learning to discern and stay tuned to His guidance. As I look back though, it's interesting that several of these visitors/friends became useful tools in opening their villages and community for evangelistic rallies. We also were able to start several Bible studies focused on the attributes of God. We are so grateful to be able to witness the way our God works! We praise Him that some people from such contacts are realizing that they have been granted "ears to hear" and have been drawn to embrace the blessed Savior. Please pray that these dear saints would grow "in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2Pet. 3:18) and that they continue "steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread and in prayers" (Acts 2:42).
The Lord has been burdening our heart about the deep darkness that hovers over India's millions. With this concern we have been waiting upon Him and are doing what we can in order to reach these dear souls. We definitely are very short on laborers (Luke 10:2, Rom. 10:14-15). Recently the Lord has brought 4 dear godly men in our contact who can be placed on the mission field here right now. All four of them are married, have children, and we believe they will be a great asset to our team. They would need monthly ministry support of $400 ($100 minimum per evangelist, per month). Please pray for this important matter. Monthly gift toward this may be designated as "Evangelists".
These last few days we are realizing that we are struck with a disaster. The winter season is upon us and the wells in this area have already gone dry and there is no water. We have been bringing water from somewhere else manually.
Please join with us in calling on our sovereign Lord that He would fulfill His purpose behind this and open the door according to His precious will. The estimated cost for each bore-well (drilling deep and setting up a motor or a hand pump etc.) will be approximately $3,000. This could be a good project in our villages and communities. If our Master leads, you may designate your gift as "water project".
Please feel free to share these above needs with whoever the Lord leads you. I do not desire to use this newsletter for "funds," but I feel I must be open with the body of Christ. “HE is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Eph. 3:20).
May His glorious presence be yours in fullest measure during this holiday season as well as throughout the New Year.
