New Year greetings from the Reales in Spain.
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God" I Cor. 1:18 Welcome to the epistolary opening of IGLESIA BAUTISTA EMANUEL , since we could not invite you all for the obvious physical problems, we thought we'd give you all the possible written insights we can until you are able to come and visit us. We didn't want anyone to miss this time of great thanksgiving for all your prayers.
The building itself used to be an office, it is on the ground floor of a quite, central street, with a four story building on top of it. The neighbors are nice we've had no complaints so far. The first jobs we did were cleaning and painting, walls and ceiling, then we set about painting the window frames there are three windows and the front and back door which goes out to a communal patio. We then had to lay the flooring as the floor tiles were broken, we got the plastic flooring on special offer, so far all this work is presided by me. We thought we could open once we got the benches installed and the pulpit. Last step getting opening permission from the local authorities, this then became one of the many steps to come. We had to install a double toilet, our landlord accepted to buy them for us. Two wc's ,two doors, two locks, two drains, more money, coincidentally special offers on DIY materials.
STOP THE PRESS
We may have found a car, a missionary friend here has enquired and there is a missionary wanting to sell his car. The amount is half the value of the vehicle so we consider this a real blessing. We know this brother will hold on to it for us but he is also in need of selling it, so we don't want to be unfair in making him wait. We ask prayer we may be able to raise the amount asked for by the end of December, its a real blessing for us because we've not been able to afford any of the second hand cars we've seen. They never were under 10 years of age either, this is 8 years old and it's only asking 1000 pound sterling I guess $1700. I'm not very sure.
I ask you to pray for this as something urgent, we are confident the Lord will provide, as we see His sovereign hand provide for us every day. Well Christmas is coming and it will be a lonely time for us, but not as lonely as last year, as we have the recent memories of our grandchildren's visit to warm our smiles, and hopefully announcements of future family events.
We are all well in health and we thank you for your letters and cards, of course your prayers and support.

PROJECT "THE LOVE OF JESUS" - Shelter "THE LOVE OF JESUS"

This is a shelter for child whose parents are in prison here in Ecuador. Nancy is beginning to help in this area of ministry.

Merry Christmas
I just wanted to send a short note to all of you who allow us to come into you homes and offices every week and share some of the information we are given weekly from missionaries and churches. I wanted to send you all warmest celebration of the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. I want to encourage you all to remember that he did not do it primarily for to save His people, but rather to bring glory to himself, as He was saving His people and remedying sin, perfectly.
May your Christmas honor Christ and may your New Year be as you mind, always being renewed in the Knowledge of Him.
