A ministry of The King's Chapel
Grace Prayer Bulletin #33
12-6-98Mike and Lynne Paasch
Rob and Jenny,
We are missionaries to Mexico. You can get more doctrinally information about us at and . We believe in the sovereignty of God to save His people and that gives us the confidence to take the gospel to the nations. We believe the Jesus Christ is the center and object of all scripture, as well as the fulfillment of law. We are working in Sonora, Mexico (a Northwest state of Mexico). My vision is to start a mobile training institute for pastors here in Mexico. I am sending our newsletter along and you may use any part you see fit.
Thanks for your ministry. For His Name's Sake,
Mike, Lynne, Hannah 8, and Amy 62 Cor. 2:14...thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
2 Tim 2:2.And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.
The vision of our ministry, by the grace of God, is becoming more and more focused. Mexico has a great need for the gospel to be spread and for the church to be established, strengthened and matured. There is a great need for Biblically-qualified leaders in the church (Titus 1:6ff). It is in the area of pastor/elder preparation, I see my greatest usefulness in Mexico. There is a lot of zeal for the gospel in Mexico, but not as often a zeal informed by Biblical understanding. With the grace of God, I hope to begin
a teaching ministry for leaders and pastors to help develop mature leaders for this generation. To that end I am praying for another national brother to team up with us in this effort. I envision a ministry that is mobile and that would use existing church facilities in which we could meet. The Lord providentially introduced me to Ignacio Alvarez. Ignacio has been a Christian ministering in Mexico for about 10 years and is a Mexican national. He has a sweet family: Genoveva his wife and 3 kids: Karen, Isaias, and Manaim. He has a great deal of experience and contacts in Northern Sonora and Baja California. It is my prayer that the Lord would knit our hearts together in the development of mini-courses for pastors currently in ministry. These courses would cover hermemeutics, theology, ministry, discipleship, and family shepherding-all of the things required in Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3. The Lord is giving Lynne opportunities to sing in churches and conferences in Nogales, Sonora. I praise God that I have currently been asked by Amistad Cristiana, a Mexican Church, to teach through the book of Ephesians on Wednesday night studies. I have completed one session and God was very gracious and it went well, (the 1st 6 verses of chapter 1). Please pray for me that I might be CLEAR and BOLD with the truth!
Mission Arizonita. We continue to help Antonio with the mission to Arizonita. Antonio is a godly man and the Lord has given us a great relationship. I have had many opportunities to discuss the ministry and the greatness of our God with him. Recently he went through a tape series "La Santidad de Dios" (Holiness of God, R.C. Sproul). He really enjoyed it and was curious to find out who this Martin Luther character was! The work in Arizonita has been very valuable on-the-job ministry/discipleship. I praise God for it! This month December 17-20, a group from Master's Bible Church in Sedona is coming to Arizonita to share Jesus Christ and minister to the believers there. We plan to have adult and childrens outreaches, possibly doing some construction work, and host a Fiesta de Navidad for the children with hot chocolate and gifts. Please pray that the Lord would greatly use this outreach, AND keep us warm!
From Nogales, Arizona to Imuris, Sonora VIA North Carolina?
We found a home that we may be able to rent on a ranch area of Imuris. Imuris is about 45 minutes South of Nogales, Sonora and is at a central crossroads in Northern Sonora. It would be close to many ministry areas and it could function as a center for training as well. But before I get carried away on that, I need to let you know about a plan that comes first! God has blessed us with many interested folks in the mission. One of those who has been a great resource to us is Nick Beezhold. Nick is the missions executive at East Valley Bible Church in Gilbert, AZ. Nick has given us some excellent advice borne out by experience and education in missions. He has convinced us for the need to get some cross-cultural missions training in order to be more effective for Jesus Christ here in Mexico. Originally, it was hard to think of leaving what we have started here, but we have found a program that is compact enough that we will be gone only the minimal amount of time (January 18 - May 5, 1999). We covet your prayers as we go to North Carolina for training. The program will help us to develop strategies for ministering to the Mexican culture and pastors in particular. At the end of the training program we plan to move into Mexico, perhaps the house in Imuris, God willing, and continue our ministry.
We had never dreamed of going to North Carolina for training, but since we are, we want to take full advantage of it. We would like to visit as many churches as we can as we traverse the country. We hope to get up to the Northeast as well to visit churches. We desired to do this before, but could not envision a time, that we would be in that neck o the woods. If you would like to have us come share at your church what our great God is doing in Mexico, call us.
SUMMER MISSIONS Matamoros and Nogales. We have begun hearing from those of you that desire to come to Matamoros and/or Nogales. We are encouraged by people motivated by God, to share the powerful gospel. Remember the dates are Matamoros, July 10-16th 1999, and Nogales, August 9-15th. We need to hear from you if you are interested by the end of January, for Matamoros, and January 15th for Nogales. Please pray that the God of the Harvest would be pleased to bless our outreaches with Himself! If you are interested write us for a packet.
Website Espaņol! We are developing a website with articles in Christian articles in Spanish. Deirdre Kirmis aka the Webnurse is doing all the layout. We have received articles from various Christian sources. The page will share our distinctive perspective of the preeminence of Jesus Christ
in the Scriptures, the absolute sovereignty of God, and the free and sovereign grace of God in the salvation of His people. We will link the page from FHNS current website @ .
