Grace Prayer Bulletin # 89

Grace Prayer Bulletin # 89
January 1,2000

"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is
as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack
concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward
us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to
repentance."
(2 Peter 3:8-9; NKJ)

Grace and Peace to all. It is with a heart of love we send greetings to
that this new millennium would be a time of reformation and refreshment for
you and for all of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Grace To Russia - Georgi Viazovski Minsk, Belarus
With fall of the Soviet Empire in 1989 and 1990, there has been a great
opportunity for the Church of the Firstborn to reach into a group of nations
with the gospel of His grace. Georgi and Luda Viazovski who live in Minsk,
Belarus have stepped forward as they have committed themselves to the
ministry of
taking the word of God to Minsk and having ministry to all Russian speaking
Christians. Georgi is the Pastor of Christ Covenant Baptist Church in
Minsk, he also is the director of Grace to Russia. Luda is a translator and
handles the
correspondence. There son, Slava is an evangelist and translator and his
wife Slava does translation. The only other staff member is a man named
Alex who does translation, graphic layout and does the upkeep on the
computers. All the staff members are committed to reformed doctrine and the
translation of reformed material into Russia.
Some current material already translated is "A Call To Spiritual
Reformation, by D.A. Carson, The Bible on the Life Hereafter by William
Hendrickson, Today's Gospel, by Walter Chantry and more, a full list
available in the address below. Some twenty books are currently available
and the list Lord willing will grow continuously. The desire is to use this
material as a means of encouraging, training, and building up Pastors and
other brethren who are Russian speaking. The means to this is stated in
their brochure in this way, "Grace to Russia
identifies, translates, and distributes Christian literature to the Russian
speaking of the former Soviet Union."
A full doctrinal statement is available from the address at the bottom of
this article. They are Reformed in nature, basing the ministry on the
Scriptures alone and the sovereignty of God's grace. Grace to Russia is
accountable to Grace Baptist Church in Hayward/Fremont, California. Grace
Baptist directs
and finances this work. If so lead Grace Baptist does accept assistance
with appreciation.

Much thanks to Bill Patton for an introduction to Georgi and Luda at Bible
Chapel of Delhi Hills in Cincinnati. They came to the Fellowship of
Independent Reformed Evangelicals Midwest USA exploratory meeting and
introduced this labor of love to us.

The Kelly Family
The church plant in Germany is doing well. They currently meet in the
Kelly's home. They average 12-15 adults and 11 children each Sunday,
excluding the Kelly's. They have had peaks of as many as 40 adults. The
church does not have a name yet and they are beginning to look into the
process of registering the church. They hope to accomplish this in 2000.
Currently the ministry involves the following: to learn German, to gather
key families and disciple them for leadership roles in the church. God has
graciously provided them with 3 key families that are mature in the faith.
Others are potentials. As God wills they pray that they will see the
following goals accomplished: registering the church in 2000, completing the
doctrinal statement, establishing a solid worship service -preaching,
corporate prayer, worship in song ( a minister of worship is needed),
translating and teaching the great doctrines, hermeneutics, pastoral
epistles and other electives, to write a conservative systematic theology in
the German and a hermeneutic textbook, planting and strengthening of other
local churches.

Prayer Requests
1- Please pray for Tim and his discipline in learning the German language.
2- Pray for wisdom in setting priorities and that Tim and Linda would spend
