Grace Prayer Bulletin # 82
November 13, 1999

"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My
church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will
give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth
will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in
heaven." (Matthew 16:18-19, NKJ)

From Noble Vater Iglesia Bautista Bereana (Berean Baptist Church)
San Juan, PR
NVater@compuserve.com
I am writing on behalf of Pastor Francisco Guzmán of the Iglesia Bíblica de
la Trinidad (Trinity Bible Church) and myself to ask you to uphold us in
prayer, especially in these next few days.
The seminars or training sessions for the Haitian pastors are scheduled to
take place on Friday and Saturday the 19th and 20th of this month. There
may be upwards of 50 men present according to Pastor Guzmán's estimates. On
the Lord's day of the 21st we will probably each be preaching twice in
different churches there.
I plan to leave Puerto Rico on the ferry with my car full of books for
people in the Dominican Republic on the night of the 15th and will stay in
Santo Domingo until Jan Pierre Kawas and perhaps one or two others of us
leave the morning of the 18th for the day's travel to Haiti. Pastor Guzmán
and Luis Sena plan to leave earlier in the week to work in various areas of
Haiti ahead of time. We return on the 22nd to Santo Domingo, and I am
scheduled to return to Puerto Rico on the ferry the night of the 23rd,
again with a car full of books printed there for distribution in the
Spanish speaking world. I am apprehensive about taking the car and driving
there.
As matters of prayer, we ask you to plead for the following:
1. That the Lord will bless our preparations and our preaching and send His
Word out with much power there among those men in Haiti.
2. That the Lord would give great grace to Jan Pierre Kawas and to whatever
other men may be involved in the work of translating the messages to
Haitian Creole and serving as the intermediaries in the conversations.
3. That the Lord would work in that poor and miserable country and bless
the efforts also being made on a social and economic level to help them.
4. That the Lord will protect all of us in all our travels, passing through
customs and exposed to whatever may harm us, including sickness.
In my absence from Puerto Rico, José Curet and Sigfredo Polanco will fill
the pulpit on the Lord's Day of the 21st, and our deacon Efraín Giráu will
give the class and be in charge of prayer meeting and of things in general.
This Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. we are having a special time of prayer
for this ministry and for matters related to a search for another meeting
place for us here in PR.

UNDISCLOSED Missionary in Turkey (This was received before another
earthquake this week).
I contacted the missionary in Turkey that told us of the church that was
arrested after its "prosolization" of the Turkish people. He sent me this
note: "Not much has changed in the past few weeks in Izmir. The building is
still
sealed, pending a ruling from the central government regarding their right
to meet there. The fellowship continues to meet regularly in another
facility. The local prosecutor has dropped all charges. We heard that
charges had also been dropped against the Zeytinburnu fellowship in
Istanbul. However, foreigners who were picked up there have had their
residence permits confiscated and have to report to local police weekly
until orders come from Ankara. Your continued prayers are appreciated."
WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING SINCE THE LAST EARTHQUAKE THIS WEEK.

Mike and Lynne Paasch - Mexico mpaasch@ids.org
There is a desire to begin an institute for Biblical training with Pastor
Jose Manuel at the Maranatha Church, the Paasch's unofficial home Church in
Mexico. There is currently a number of Pastors meeting with him working on a
Systematic Theology together. Training is also being put together for work
on training Children on Bible, English and Computers. There is an existing
school there at this time into which they would be able to integrate this
into. There is a strong desire in this region for such education, this
would be a good opportunity to train young Christians and give opportunity
to expose many to the gospel in a longer positive environment. This along
with the institute, it is desired that could provide training for future
Mexican Nationals in the ministry of the gospel.
The group of Pastors studying theology is also on Mike's heart as there are
three of them who seem to be that are well grounded in Scripture.

Dan Norcini - Sovereign Grace Bible Church - Houston (Area) the Tomball
suburb, Texas dnor@comwerx.net
Eight Months ago Dan Norcini along with the brethren now called the
Sovereign Grace Bible Church began meeting in the Houston Area of Texas.
Dan is very thankful for the solid core of people in such a new work. They
are like many young works that are challenged with new growth.
As Dan said, "We are not into gimmicks or marketing schemes or clever and
innovative methodologies but are trusting in prayer and proclamation of the
truth. It is a pleasure to leave the results in the hands of the Lord and
trust in him to add to His church daily such as should be saved." Dan has
been refreshed like so many of us to have the eyes of so many to see the
truths of the doctrines of grace among those who are earnestly seeking the
truth. One of the challenges is being faced by those in the area who want a
seeker friendly format, like many areas throughout the world this movement
is sweeping through the Houston area. We thank the Lord for all those who
are seeking to give out the Scriptures in a manner that demonstrates the
sufficiency of Christ in Scriptures and not "the gimmicks."

Christian and Sheryl Andersen - Berlin, Germany with Grace to You
The Andersens are establishing a new church Plant work near the center of
Berlin. Part of their ministry is to establish a presence for Grace to
You, the ministry of John MacArthur in Germany. They are also establishing
a school in Berlin, hoping to make their ministry a "light house of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ in this area and throughout Berlin."

Jonathan and Annette Gilmore - Sicily jdgilmore@iname.com
After 14 months in the UK, mostly dealing with health issues, the Glimores
are now back in Sicily. They returned in early October. Late in November
Jonathan will be speaking to a good group of youth in Northern Italy. In
the beginning the Gilmores are hoping to have a youth meeting in their
region that would Lord willing turn into a long term work for them.

Ray and Carol Harbaugh - Rancagua, Chile ray@interaccess.cl
GLENN, the Harbaugh's new coworker is getting settled in his apartment that
he's renting just across the street from them. Pray for his contacts as he
meets his neighbors. He is doing well with the Spanish, but like everyone
just getting started in the language, he feels very inadequate. Pray for his
visa to be approved.
Jacob and Hernan will have the Sunday services here in Rancagua. Pray for
their continued growth as leaders and for their faithfulness in every area.
Jacob, Hernan, Glenn, and Ray are meeting every Monday morning at 8:00am for
prayer and a brief devotional from the Word. Pray for the Lord to bless
their time together and for each of them to be growing.
Pray for Ray's class at the Bible Institute. He currently has six students
in the beginning Greek class. Pray for the students to be faithful in their
study time outside of class. Some are doing well and others are struggling.
LUIS, Hernan's brother, needs special prayer right now. The situation with
his wife, PAULITA, and daughter, PAULITA, is very serious and quite
troubling
for him. Luis has also been asked to pay about $600 month child support, an
amount that is almost absurd here in Chile. Pray that the Lord will protect
his
daughter and that in time he will have custody of her. LUIS is beginning
the process of an annulment with Paula. Please pray for the Lord to guide.
