BRIAN & NECY ELLIS - Philippines
Cubao Reformed Baptist Church
MALAYSIA
Necy and I returned from our visit to Malaysia which we thoroughly enjoyed. The brethren there were very hospitable and warm. It was good to learn of the some of the difficulties among which they labour in that country. Yet at the same time to see the zeal of the small church for the Lord and their practical concern for mission and evangelism. There are about 10 churches none of which are very large and some only consist of a few families. Yet they are very outward looking and concerned to see a Reformed witness established in
Mayanmar (Burma) and to help brethren in Sri Lanka.
GRACE MINISTERIAL ACADEMY
God willing we finish our first semester of our third year next week at the end of September. Please pray for the students as they have exams and many assignments and papers that must be submitted. Continue to uphold Noel Espinosa with the heavy load he carries. We are planning for these two Pastors' Conferences towards the end of October.
NOTE: REMEMBER PER THE QUICK NOTE NOEL’S HEALTH
CHURCH
Continue to pray for the evangelistic Bible Studies that we may see conversions. Also the on going interviews with those applying for membership. Pastor Mon will be preaching this Lord's Day at Moonwalk.
Steve Hofmaier should now be in the UK.
Thank you for your prayers for us.
The Lord bless you.

Scott and Carol Musser - Madrid, Spain
To Our Dear Beloved Friends,
August, 1998
YES, WE ARE IN SPAIN!!!!! (That is a line I have been waiting to type for about 6 years!) We arrived safely in Madrid on July 25, and have been busy getting our "house" set up and discovering our neighborhood. We are truly excited about starting this new phase of our lives!
MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS AND REWARD EACH OF YOU who have given, prayed, housed, fed, encouraged, and nurtured us along these many years. So many have helped with so many things, and we are truly grateful! And we wish a SPECIAL thanks to our loving parents, JOHN & DARLENE PAUGSTAT, and HARVEY & DORIS MUSSER. They have consistently and lovingly helped with SO MANY details, that deserve very special recognition. WE LOVE YOU!!
THE FACTS:
- we live on the NE corner of Madrid, near the airport
- Scot will be teaching: Sr. high Bible, consumer math, boys P.E., Jr. high math, social studies, and geography
- we are all adjusting very well - thanks for praying specifically for this
- in our neighborhood of Barajas (est. 20,000), there might be 10 Christians
PRAISES:
- safe arrival of us and our "stuff" to Spain
- that 2 weeks before we left, we had reached 100% support status!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- rapid adaptation to the language and this new culture
- for Scot as he prepares lessons and goes back to the classroom (after a 6 year break from teaching!)
- for Carol, to make friends in the apartment building and the community
- for the kids, as they adjust to life here and start school
- for wisdom in finding a local church (there aren't many to choose from!)
Lastly, we say again that it is a dream come true for us to finally be here in Madrid! We know God has been in it all along - but so have many of you - giving and petitioning God that we might be on our way. Thank
you from the bottom of our hearts!!
With Love from Madrid, Spain,
Scot & Carol Musser

The September 1998
Bhete
Buzzer Abidjan, Ivory Coast
Dear Friends,
So this comes with warm (though mercifully not too warm) greetings from Abidjan!
Our Visit to Gagnoa
Leonard (our language helper) and Eliezer (tailor who wants to work for us) came to visit us in Abidjan within a few days of our return. We explained about our move to Abidjan. We have arranged for the moment that Leonard will continue living in our house in Gagnoa and carry on with the text collection work which
he was doing whilst we were in Britain.
Househunting in Abidjan
We have been to look at lots of houses in Abidjan, but none of them seemed to be quite right. They were either too far from the SIL centre, the price was too high or the accommodation would not suit both living and working at home. We also saw an apartment right by the SIL centre, but the price seemed very high and it wasn't in very good condition. We finally decided that it was probably the best option and phoned to accept it, only to find that someone had just taken it. At times like that it is good to know that we have a sovereign God who works all things for our good. We hear that another similar apartment in better condition is probably becoming available soon, right next door to the SIL centre and directly above the branch director's apartment. Please pray that we can find somewhere soon and move our things down from Gagnoa.
Acting Director
Eddie Arthur, our Branch Director is out of the country this week so Paul is acting director. Hopefully, this will involve nothing more than signing a few official documents. Please pray that if more critical decisions or needs do arise then the Lord will give Paul wisdom.
love from us all
