Grace Prayer Bulletin # 20

Grace Prayer Bulletin #20
Brethren,
This is the second in an installment of the Local Reformed/ Sovereign Grace Churches that have a church based training ministries. Grace Ministerial Academy is a part of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church in the Philippines. This Church was featured in Grace Prayer Bulletin #12, this is the work where
God is using Brian and Neci Ellis. Attached also is an excerpt from Pastor Wayne Anderson's latest letter, he is a reformed Baptist Missionary in Mexico. Also, David Cox, who is in Mexico as well, will be travelling to the USA to seek further support and prayer base. I have asked for his itinerary, if anyone is interested in talking to Dave his email address is (No longer available).
Grace Ministerial Academy is a ministry of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church and is a church based seminary for the training of men to be pastors and preachers of God's word. Classes are open to men, who are already in the ministry, on a part or full time basis and to men who are desirous of receiving training for the ministry. It is hoped that men already in the pastoral office will avail themselves of the opportunity of equipping themselves further for the task to which the Lord has called them. We are to give ourselves to the study of
the word of God.
The Apostle Paul exhorts Timothy to - "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Tim 2:15 (NKJV) For those needing accommodation, accommodation is available free of charge during their time of study. Scholarships are also available for deserving students.
"What is needed? The primary need is for preachers. God has done His greatest work in the world and in the Church through preachers; and never was there a greater need of preachers than today... One of the most
alarming and most regrettable aspects of our present Church life is the paucity of preachers of the Word... We are out to produce preachers and pastors...
This is not to be a college to produce specialists. It is to produce men who
will be preaching Sunday by Sunday to congregations of ordinary people." Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones (On the inauguration of the London Theological Seminary)
A place of high-level training in theology and ministry...
The academy seeks to have a single-minded goal, that of refining the graces and sharpening the gifts of men who are, and will be, preachers and teachers of the Word of God and pastors of the church of Jesus Christ.
The academy, in obedience to the New Testament pattern, operates under the authority and ministry of a biblically ordered church.
The academy seeks to maintain tutors who are of noted character and of proven competence. They are men who are, or have been engaged, in diligent pastoral ministry.
The academy is not for the granting of credentials in the eyes of men, but is the tool of churches of like faith to commend men for ministry.
Academic Year of 1997-98
Twenty-five men have been enrolled in some of the courses at the Academy. Most of the men are already engaged in the work of the ministry. day running of the Academy as well as presently teaching three courses - Dogmatic Theology, Hermeneutics and Romans II.

Pastor Wayne Andersen - Grace & Truth Baptist Mission
Dear Praying Friends,
But that you also may know my affairs and how I am doing, ...I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our affairs, and that [it] may comfort your hearts. Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. (Ephesians 6:21-24).
We have been back in Mexico about two weeks now and things are going well.
We deeply appreciate your prayers in our behalf. Our first Sunday back, we met in the home of one of our faithful attendees since our home was such a mess. Our regulars were there so it was good to see everyone again. We continue praying that the Lord will open a more public meeting place to facilitate visitors and make them feel more comfortable in coming to the worship of God and to the preaching of His Word.
Our print shop still is not operational due to the sickness of the technician before we left for the States, but it should be finished by the end of next week. It was good to see everyone again this summer. We feel a deep sense of gratitude for the way you have encouraged and enriched our lives. Thank you again for the manifold ways that so many of you demonstrated Christs love and for your thoughtfulness to our family. We could not minister here in Mexico without you.
Prayer Requests:
1) Please pray for open doors and open hearts as we present the gospel.
2) The salvation of the Bravo family, the Hererra family, Gina Sauter and family, Rosa Reina, and David Alonzo.
3) Spiritual growth of Ivan Espinoza and public profession of Christ through baptism.
4) The literature ministry and the new pastor's periodical coming out this year, as well as the new hymnal.
5) A more public place to meet and God's blessing on our recent literature campaigns.
6) Our financial needs and those of the ministry. We praise the Lord for increased support last month and for increased interest among churches.
7) We also ask for continued prayer for our health and safety in one of the world's most polluted and dangerous cities. Our entire family has been sick lately.
