WHAT EVERY PARENT SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CPS
Did you know that children are being kidnapped every day, and it's legal? Yes thats right legal, it's only legal because the people we thought were there to Protect our children, are kidnapping them, and for some srtange reason, not many have had balls enough, or even knew how to go about stopping them.. Due to unsubstaintiated allegations from a anonymous caller, your entire life could come crashing down around at your feet. You think it cant happen to you, you better think again. People, good people, not drug addicts and gang bangers, child abusers nor molestors, but good people are finding themselves tangled up in the webs of Child Protection Services. Their lives are torn completely appart, children are literally riped from their parents arms, kicking and screaming, and sent to some strange place with people they dont even know. While their parents are left at home, confused, scared, numb, wondering what in the hell just happened, and why.
Well guess what, forget why it happened, the facts are it did, dont waste your time nor energy trying to figure out why, believe me, for what you are about to go through, you're going to need all the time and energy, and strength you can muster. The first thing you need to do, stop your crying, stop your yelling and hollering, it will do you no good. What you need to think about know is getting those kids back. In order to do this, YOU MUST OBTAIN A GOOD LAWYER, I dont care if your not guilty, and neither does the Juvenile justice system, so you better find a good lawyer whether you're guilty or not because now a days, YOU ARE GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT.
Now jusr because you found yourself a lawyer doesn't mean you sit back and let him/her do all the work. Get off your ass, and do some legal research of your own, the ultimate price to pay for your lack of knowledge is your kids. Learn all you can about your local laws, Juvenile laws, and your civil right. Look for support groups and others who have or are going through this, their support can be such a help. Besides one thing you dont want to do is go through this alone.
When it comes to the time, that you must have a meeting with anyone from Child Protection Services, there are a couple of things you MUST remember. First of all DO NOT SIGN ANY KIND OF CASE PLAN THEY TRY TO GIVE YOU. If you do, you are admitting to the allegations on the report. CPS conviently forgets to mention this part. And by the time you are given your court appointed lawyers, it too late. Tape record EVERY converstion you have with them whether it be via telephone, or in person. CPS workers have been known to lie, make up stories, exaggerate, do anything they can possible do, to discredit you, and make you out to be the devil himself. They are NOT your friends, they ARE NOT there to help you, get that into your head, now. They are your enemy and they are out destroy you. Following every meeting with CPS, send a registared letter to the case worker stating "On Such and such day we met, (give the exact date and time) and we discussed the following things(List all that you discussed) then add if I misunderstood anything in any way please let me know via letter. Sign it, keep a copy for your records, and send it off. And remember keep all the paper work they do give you, it's very important. Also it's helpful to keep detailed records of everything that happenes in your life. I suggest start a journal, list all that you had to do, all that happened, and most importantly, how you are feeling, how this whole situation is tearing you apart.
Another good thing for you to do, is get involved, contact the organizations that are really out there to protect you. And now is the time you and your significant other need to stick together. DO NOT let them tear the two of you apart, divide and conquer is one of their tatics. And remember it's not your fault and it's not his\her fault, so dont waste your time blaming each other. If anyone is to blame it is the system, for being as unethnical, and biased, and hyprocritical as they are.
