Welcome to my own Utopia. Everyone gets along here. Racism does not exist here. Relax..........

ABOUT ME

Real name: Desiree Antoinette Waldo
Nicknames: Toni, Des, Desi
Other names: Golana(Cherokee for "raven"), Antonia, Paquita (a name I gave myself in High school Spanish class)
Birthplace: Charlotte, Nc, USA
Birthdate: April 24, 1971
Marital Status: Single ( and Looking)

STATS
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 110 lbs. (It fluctuates).
Hair: Off black
Eyes: Brown

MY GOALS:
One of my main goals is to use whatever technique I can to combat racism,& sexism by creating a more diverse society. It's a shame to hear about the hate crimes committed. It's almost the year 2000. We need to all get along. We're all here together.
Another main goal, is to spread the gospel of Christianity by becoming a missionary. I am a devout Christian, but not perfect (but then again, I didn't think any person was). I want to at least help win at least one person to Christ.

I LIKE:
Dancing, Religious Activities, Cultural Events, Writing Poetry, Sci-fi & Horror Flicks

I HATE:
Racism, Stupidity(Some people say & do the dumbest things & believe me I've heard almost everything), Prejudice, Narrow-minds

FAVE MUSIC:
R & B, Latin, Rock, Rap,Techno, basically anything EXCEPT COUNTRY (But, believe it or not, I did like "Achy Brakey Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus, & I do like Shania Twain)

FAVE MOVIES:
Horror & Sci-fi, (I loved the movie, The Island of Dr. Moreau)

FAVE SHOWS:
Sci-fi, Christian network shows, Wrestling (Occasionally), Cartoons (Ok, so you think I'm a little old for this. To each their own right. If you don't like them don't watch them. Meanwhile, some make more sense & are a heck of a lot better than the crappy shows on tv).

PEOPLE I ADMIRE:
Me (Ok, I know you think I'm arrogant, but I'm NOT, just self-confident. Oh, did I tell you I'm sarcastic at times), My Family ( Both Collectively & individually), Vanessa Williams (She suffered a lot of downfalls, but rose to overcome them), Denise Matthews (Formerly known as Vanity, She left her sexy rock star image behind to become a born-again Christian), Konnan (WCW, He really keeps it real. Keep up the good work. Estas en mi corazon), Litefoot (Native American actor/rapper, for his talent & effort to promote pride in the Native American communities. Thank you). This list could go on & on forever.

FANTASIES:
To be wealthy & famous (Hey, anything's possible), To be a Nitrogirl ( there's a first time for everything, right), To get a handsome guy to come with me to get my first tattoo (Yes, this is weird, but I've heard even weirder).

MY PHILOSOPHY ON LIFE:
Boy are you guys in for a treat. For those of you who don't know me or don't know me well, I'm a straight-up-in-your-face type of person. I like to say what I need to say and get it over with. Going through life has been really tough for me, especially my teen & college years. The following are a few lessons I've learned throughout the years.

1. People should STOP analyzing things ( looking for hidden meanings behind things) . Sometimes things just happen the way they happen. For instance, Some idiots have actually done research to see if Bugs Bunny (cartoon character) was bi-sexual. Come on this is totally ludicrous. Some people have no life. Another example, a person who likes to wear a particular color, say black for instance, some people would say that the person must be in mourning. Please give it a rest.
2. If you don't know what to say or don't have anything to say---KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!! Example: A mother has a miscarriage. Some "idiots" would tell her, "Don't worry you can always have more". Case in point.
3. There truly is a right time and place for everything. (For those of you with Bibles, check out Ecclesiastes 3)
4. All it takes for evil to flourish is for good people (Christians) to do nothing.
5. Sometimes life is full of contradictions. Like, good & evil, everything has to balance out.
6. Relationships fail mainly, because of POOR COMMUNICATION. People often portray the wrong image of themselves. There's no consistency. Whatever you are, portray that image. For example, if you're a Christian, portray a Christ-like image.
7. Say what you mean. (Enough said)
8. Sometimes life is like a bowl of cherries, sometimes it's the pits. ( a little Forest Gump humor. OK, it's a little cheesy, but, it does make sense)

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:
One night I was praying to God. I was asking Him when HE was going to send me the right guy. He answered,"I already have, JESUS".

ABOUT MY FAITH:

Like I said before, I am a Christian. I've been one since I was very young. I grew up in the church. Growing up I did make LOTS of mistakes, like experimenting with sex & alcohol. I've always been a sexual person, since I was a child. It caused me a tremendous amount of guilt throughout the years. Over the years, I found myself in embarrassing situations. I've been so drunk I passed out & didn't remember what happened the night before. Great, huh.
The point I'm trying to make is Alcohol & sex did NOT& does not bring eternal bliss. I finally decided to re-dedicate my life to God. It's been rough at times, but I've made it so far. Here are some of the bible verses that helped me make it through. They are some of my favorites:

Romans 15:1-2, "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new.

Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.

Phillipians 4:13, "I can do all things in Christ which strengthens me".

MY TRIBUTE TO NATIVE AMERICANS
Having Native American ancestry (Cherokee) has made me do research on our first Americans. The statistics are alarming. Native Americans are the smallest minority in the US and are on the bottom of the socio-economic scale. I feel like more should & could be done to remedy these problems, among others. There are many projects like Feed The Children and the United Negro College Fund among others. I would like to work on a project to help Native Americans. Many movie stars get together for other causes & charity functions. Why not get together for a televised function on behalf of our first Americans? They, of all people, deserve it. I would like input from you guys out there. What do you think? Check out my links.

I'll put more online in days to come. Hope you enjoy my island of Utopia. Please feel free to e-mail at anytime. Until next time..... Take care & God bless!!!!

P.S. I'd like to give a shout out to GOD,my family & friends ( Albert, Anthony, Courteny, Tabitha, Vincent) !!! I would also like to commend Lyric Wallwork Wink for writing the article in Parade magazine in the July 18, 1999 issue. Thank you. It was about time someone did this.
