The Ministry of Godwin Booysen
Reverend Dr. Godwin Booysen is Senior Pastor and Founder of Good News Church, a pivotal church of revival and community transformation.
He became an ordained, (in 1996) licensed minister in 1997, he is also an ordained Pastor of IFCC, the International Federation of Christian Churches since 2001.
He was born and raised in Thaba Nchu, a remote town in the Free State, South Africa, with a population of about 70 000 people, he was schooled and acquired practical leadership experience by serving this community. It must be noted that his leadership gifting was realized when he was in the Boy Scout Movement, later as an Athletic coach & official, including serving as Public Relations officer for the Thaba Nchu Amateur Athletic Association-with no formal Public Relations training at all. He is married to Kehilwe and have two daughters Faith and Joy.
His ministry involves community service such as being- for the past two years; a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Children’ s Entitlement to Social Security, which is formed by more than 1000, child-centered Non Governmental Organizations.
Since June 2002 he has been office- manager of the Joint Venture HIV/AIDS desk, which is under the Free State Christian Church Leaders Forum. The desk was initiated by the then Premier of the province to find the Church’s response to HIV/AIDS and poverty. In this venture Godwin was able to mobilize more than 100 volunteers form more than 25 different churches, distributing food-parcels, counseling and providing home based care services to more than 500 patients to date.
He has thirteen years of military background, which includes being Special Forces operator, a qualified parachutist and demolisher (handling explosives). For the past 7 years he served as a Chaplain at the rank level of Colonel.
His radio ministry is touching many lives, and is appreciated by thousands of listeners (since the station has about 140 000 of listenership), for bringing change to the lives of individuals, families and churches, and community organizations.
Godwin finished his high school education in 1991 at Moroka High School, and after that earned the following qualifications:

He is current studies are:
1. Personal studies on Gnosticism
2. Pastoral Theology
3. He is also writing a Thesis/Dissertation for his Doctorate of Jurisprudence Theologian Degree
He is serving as New World Mission Dunamis University On-line/ Internet Secretary, Principal and Tutor of the school in the Motheo district of Mangaung in the Free State Province, as well as helping the Dean with correspondence, course and curriculum development, and setting up community development programs and projects.
Dr. Godwin Booysen is Director of the South African Virtual University Accrediting Association.
The latest project he is initiating is PUBLIC INTEREST, an NGO that addresses human rights related issues around child abuse, youth and women-empowerment.
Many people in the community development sector look-up to him as advisor and capable leader, and those in the church community for speaking Godly wisdom and counsel in line with Leadership development and Practical ministry.
