CELEBRATION OF LIFE MINISTRY
Revd. Graham Robinson
Irrespective of whether you are Church of England, Catholic, Spiritualist or whatever your faith might be, it is an undeniable fact that many people have pulled away from the ‘church’ for a variety of reasons with congregations diminishing on a dramatic scale.
The human race is beset with the stigmas of faith, creed, colour, race, sexuality, background, and many other prejudices. The church has continued to enhance the doctrine of hierarchical theories and prejudices that are borne from history and have continued to ‘rule’ lives and instill 'fear' into people thereby falling short of the true teachings of the word of God.
Why do we have prejudices against others when it is said in the bible that God made us in his own image? Look around you. Who are we to judge that the person standing next to us in the supermarket, in the pub, in the café or restaurant or anywhere around us are not made in God’s image? Jesus said, “...Love one another as I have loved you. (John 15.12)”
The fact we must all face is that times have moved on and still the most powerful energy known to man and by far higher above nature, is LOVE. The power of love conquers all and that is where the Celebration of Life Ministry has a different approach.
Reverend Graham Robinson is a Universalist and founder of the Celebration of Life Ministry. The Ministry is NOT a church in the conventional sense. Universalism is built on the analogy that all religions have something to offer, to those who follow them. A person can be religious in deed but not necessarily in ritual. We, therefore are a “spiritual” organisation building its strength on unconditional love and work on the concept that everyone is equal whatever their faith, colour, creed, race, or sexuality.
Gatherings of the Celebration of Life Ministry are held on a regular basis, currently in member’s homes* and take the form of either a discussion session, teachings and participation in the many aspects of different religions, cultures and spirituality, a time of healing, a guided meditation or sharing together a time of prayer, singing and bible study. Gatherings may also include a communion ceremony and is open to all who attend.
There are no rules and regulations except two and they are one, to have an open heart and the other is to practice unconditional love.
* We are actively looking for a place to hold larger gatherings. Keep calling back to check for website updates.
