Shirley Manson> do i really need to say more? This woman is the most amazing person singer in the world. And not to mention she’s hella hot. AND TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH THAT I DIG THEM I HAVE 28 GARBAGE CDS. THE NEWEST ONE I GOT IS A TRIBUTE TO GARBAGE BY A STRING QUARTET ITS HELLA TIGHT. Vow was Garbage's first hit the song almost a throw-away gesture. The song itself is very dark- although it was not about the slashing exploits of Larena Bobbit (as was rummored), the song did touch on sado-masochism. incredibly, onve Volume was released, many DJ;S started to play "VOW". Under deress, Garbage officially put out the single in March of 1995. When the debut album Garbage was released, the previously fawning media began to grumble about Butch's band being privileged rich man's toy. Even so, the sheer quality of the record itself dispelled these snipes easly, and the general reaction was one of critical accliam. Indeed, Butch argued that having him in the band on most occasions worked against them, becasuse people were coming to Garbage's music with preconceived ideas or agendas. Shirley acknowledged this fact when she said in Retroactive Baggage, "we knew we had a good album, we wouldn't get a second chance at it. If we'd come out with a below-average album, we'd have been crucified, so it had to be good and we were shitting ourselves." THE opening 'supervixen' blasts the listner into Garbage's world, interspersing long drawn out silences with a cutting and memorable riff splicing the song together. Next up was the soon-to be single 'queer', infectious and dark, mellow guitar work behind the tale of the street-working woman paid to go and mak ea son into a man. 'Only happy when it rains' (my favorite} continues the onslaught of quality, with its pseudo-goth gloomy mood and ironic chastisement of the self-indulgent alternative rock martyrs. Future singels "Milk" and 'stupid Girl' were instant classics, and scary 'stroke of luck' reminds the listner that Garbage are never going to be merely superficial pop band. the entire record was a concoction of brilliant creativity, and was rightfully heralded by the critics and public alike as the scene.
OK let’s just start you off with a few of the basics:
Shirley Manson: the lead singer of the band Garbage, formally in the bands Angelfish and goodbye MR Mackenzie which she sang back up. She is very well known for striking looks, alluring confedence and strong personality. Shirley layers this diverse musical background with a powerful and striking vocals.Wrapping her mirophone stand in a pink boa, Shirley became bery much the centre of attention, wrenching the focus away from the previosly central Butch Vig. Her sexuality on stage abd strong minded character in the press created an aura around her thatpropelled her to the status of one of the pop world's leading female lights. She is very blunt about her pride in being a woman, telling the Face "A lot of women still feel like thet can't play up their feminine side and be taken seriouly as an artiste, but i still see that as a sufferingat the hands of a male-dominated industray. I've always felt I am a female and i'm not going to hide that for anybody. I love to wear beaitiful clothes and i love wearing make-up and i love for people to make me look as good as i possibly can. And i do't want to play-down my breasts or my bum or my legs. I mean, fuck it, it's there to be enjoyed just the same as a man is to be enjoyed." With her tight braless mini-T shirts, knee high boots, soft scottish accent and tantalisingly short skirts, Shirley seemed alble to play the adoring crowds into the palm of her hand. Sonically, she was sensual yet aggressive, coy and yet direct,

Butch is a very well known producer, he's done stuff for smashing pumpkins, nirvana no star and many more, he was the drummer for two bands called Spooner and Firetown
Steve Marker:
Steve marker is the co-founder of Smart Studios {butch is the other}. Besides his obvious musical talents and being good enough to answer fan mail { I actually got a response he has worked with NIN and u2 and a band called L7 and this crazy laddy is 38
Duke Erikson:
He was the guitarist and singer for spooner and later Firetown. He also worker with NIN U2 and L7
And this boys real name is: Doug Erikson
He's from Nebraska
And he's 46
So who is garbage?
Garbage consists of 4 group members with a new bass player that has already joined the line up
Garbage is made up of:
Pretty girl Shirley Manson- Vocals, and guitar
Steve Marker- guitar, bass, samples and loops
Duke Erikson- guitars. Keyboards, 6 string and fuzz bass
Butch Vig-drums, loops, noise and efx
Daniel Shulman- bass
So how did they get that weird ass name?
Butch can answer that one-
This friend came into the studio to play some percussion on the remix of a NIN track, and he saw the looped that I had been doing around the desk he said, ¡man, this fuckin shit looks like garbage to me, do you know what your doing? And I said I’m not sure, but are we going to turn this garbage into a song at some point! We kind of liked the name because it could be a blend of all sorts of trash and stuff.
Do any of the Garbage songs have any references to something else?
Them Garbage kids are nuts about movies. So they made some movie references. Supervixen refers to a Russ Meyer film and My Lovers Box refers to Belle De Jour, a film by Luis Bunuel.

Here are some things about me: {Yicks now that’s a scary thought lol}
IM a 19 year old female from Walnut Creek California IM originally from the stupid little town of Sisters Oregon. I spent over 18 years in the fuckin lil town and IM glad to out of there. What a hellhole. Well I guess it wasn’t sooo bad but there was serusly nothing to do in that town so I started running. Hmmm nothing like trying to pass the time by. So in school I ran cross- country and track. And I was good I am a state runner. And not to mention I’m cute.
