ERIC'S GAME CAVE
FRONT MISSION 3......... console:PLAYSTATION
developer:SQUARESOFT ....publisher:SQUARE EA
GENRE:Strategy/RPG.......ersb rating:T
This week I've played "FRONT MISSION 3" for the PlayStation.
This Squaresoft strategy/RPG takes place in 2112 in and around
Japan. The graphics are less stellar than other Squaresoft games
and the music just sucks. On the plus side, the story is really
good and the combats are a LOT like FF Tactics.Your Wanzers
{giant mech} are your standard weapons during the battles
and they are highly customizable which adds to the depth
of the game. The game contains two storylines with
allies, enemies and missions. The game even has it's own web
which provides nothing much to the player.Even though this
game has some minor flaws, it still earns irself a very decent 8.9/10

TRIPLE PLAY 2001..........console:PLAYSTATION
developer:TREY ARCH........publisher:EA Sports
GENRE:baseball..............ersb rating:E
TP 2K1 takes baseball to a new level this season. All the
standards options are there; create a player, season,
dinasty mode,...But where this game really comes through
is with the reward system:accomplish a certain task and
it will earn you a legendary player such as Babe Ruth or
Hank Aaron, a new stadium(this one could help the Expos)
or something to use on the field like super fast player
or huge bat.As far as gameplay goes, the control are intuitive
and easy to learn, and if you get lost in one of the menus,
tap the triangle button and an help screen will appear.
Of course this game is not perfect;some will get bored of
the repetitive color commentary or the long load times.
One of my major complaints though, is that if you don't
read the manual, you will spend more time loading and saving
than actually playing the game.Even so, for baseball fans,
this is the best baseball game so far on the PSX;8.1/10.

CRAZY TAXI..........Console:Dreamcast
Developper:Sega......Publisher:Sega
Genre:Driving.........ersb:T
Those who played this game in the arcades knows what
I'm talking about; this is one of the true last enthusiast
"arcade" game. It's got some great graphics, an amazing
soundtrack (though it could have been more varied) and
some great controls that become second nature pretty
fast. Those who've never played it should pick it up right
now to discover what the craze is about.the special controls
are really easy to master like the crazy drift and dash. But
this game is not without flaws, sometime you will hit a
car and fly across the road in a weird way, the music(by The
Offsprings and Bad Religion) becomes boring given there's
only six in-game songs and one credit-only song, and
there's the occasional slowdown that plagues most racing
games, but it's not too bad cause it doesn't happen if
you keep the traffic option under three. There isn't much
new from the arcade port except a new city that takes
many places from the arcade course and the crazy box
which helps you master the different maneuvers you can
execute.Overall it is a truly great ports that could've
spend some more weeks into development:8.7/10.
