My name is David Townend And I live in Huddersfield West Yorkshire. My amateur licence was first issued to me on the 28th February 1983. Then due to lack of funds, and very severe personal problems, I let the licence lapse. I reactivated the licence on the 12th of July 2003.
I am currently employed as a class one truck driver, and most of my activity on amateur radio nowadays, is on 70cm and 144mhz FM mobile.I am married to Margaret, who spoils me rotten; between us we have seven children, thirteen grand children, (two more on the way) and two great grand children on the way)
The main purpose of this web site is
(1) To make contacts with other Truck Drivers who are also Radio Hams
(2) To offer help and advice to any Truck Drivers reguarding the new rules and regulations reguarding The 48 Hour Working Time Directive.
I welcome any enquiry and will only include any comments I recieve providing I have the original authers written consent.
