Letters Home
December 8, 2007
Fusileers Fife and Drum Corps,
Thank you for your show of support to HHB, 3-6 FA serving in Iraq. My team received a box that you recently sent to CPT Wolf. The gift bags in it were greatly appreciated by all the Soldiers. Our jobs are made easier knowing that people back home know and care about us.
Sincerely,
MAJ Stephen Rhudy
Transition Team Chief
Kirkuk, Iraa

December 3, 2007 - From Capt Shannon Wolf
Fusileers,
Wow, what an awesome supprise. Your care packages are awesome. I have distibuted them to my platoons, and hopefully you guys will be recieving some more thank-you's from my Soldiers. Now, just so I am not setting up any false expectations, the OPTEMPO around here seems to ebb and flow, and the last couple of weeks it has been on flow. So, if we do not write back on a timely basis, I'll apologize in advance. What you guys are doing, and have done so far is awesome. Before you ask. KRAB stands for Kirkuk Regional Air Base(kind of cheesy, but it is an Air Force acronym), we are on FOB Warrior, and it is located right next to the Iraqi city of Kirkuk. I am getting some pictures and a newsletter together to send out to you guys to show you some of the things we are doing. I hope you guys had a happy Thanksgiving. Thanks again for making my day a little brighter.
Shannon

Good Morning to you,
I just wanted to write to say thank you for sending the boxes of
Christmas items. We really appreciate your support. Many of the items
will be sent to two squads I have on outlying patrol bases where life's
necessities are lacking and they will be grateful to have the support.
Again, thank you so much, we wish you all the best this holiday season!
Very Respectfully,
CPT James Machado

Fusileers Fife & Drum Corps;
My name is Vanessa Hill; I am a CPT in the US Army currently stationed in Kirkuk, Iraq. I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to show us your support and for your encouragement. It is important for us to know that regardless of political opinions, the American people support the troops. We are doing our best to do the best job we can while we are here. Hopefully, things will improve soon and the terrorists will surrender all their efforts and we can live more peacefully.
I really enjoyed the individually bagged of goodies made by the kids and so did the rest of our team. As the mother of three children—13, 6, & 3—it warms my heart to see the kids creativity and concern. Please let them know that we truly appreciate it and that their drawings are on display in our offices. We know that it takes time and lot of effort to arrange these care packages but know that your efforts are not unnoticed and that there are many soldiers that pray for your health and long life.
Please continue supporting our troops and educate those that have chosen to forget us by mistaking us with the real creators of this violence. Thank you again…
