A little about me,well, my name is Ashlee and I love writing! This newsletter has been an idea of mine for a couple of years now, and I'm finally getting around to actually publishing it! Here's more about the newsletter!
"Friends Worldwide" is a bi-monthly newsletter that I created for pen pals of all ages all around the world! Some of the sections that appear in my newsletter are:
Stories
Poems
"Vacation Time" (where you tell us about where you've travelled to).
Book/movie/website reports
"The Mailbox" (which is pen pal ads).
"Portfolio" (where you can show off your art).
"In The Spotlight": (where each issue I spotlight one of the subscribers by asking them questions and publishing the answers).
Recipes
Crafts
"The Places We Call Home" (where you tell us about where you live).
"Just For Fun" (where I hold drawings and contests).
"Swappers Corner" (where I hold organized swaps).
"The Photo Album" (where you can show and tell us about a particular photo).
"Jobs Around The World" (where you tell us about what your job is like).
"Mommy's Around The World" (which is a special section in my newsletter specifically for moms. There we hold mommy swaps, let you tell us about your life as a mom, spotlight one of your kids, where you just tell us a little about them,....and more).
This newsletter is unique in that it is basically written by it's subscribers! I have a credit point system set up so that when you do submit an article or just anything, and it does get published you will receive so many points for it! Here's how the system works:
Story=10 points
Poem=5 points
Recipe= 5 points
Reports(such as book reports)=5 points
Crafts=5 points
Spotlight=10 points
Art=5 points
Ad(such as a pen pal ad or classified)=5 points
Article(such as where you live, where you've travelled,...)=10 points
Photo=5 points
Subscribing to the newsletter=20 points
Referring a friend=20 points
Once you receive 200 credit points you will then get 3 free issues!
If you are interested in subscribing, a sample copy is $2.00, and a 1 year subscription is $18. Though I will be willing until October of 2006 to give away free sample copies!
