The Tesla Tower Before It Was Completed.

A Short Biography on Nikola Tesla. At the bottom of the page you will find links to home business and health food.

Nikola Tesla was a man ahead of his time. He invented the Tesla radio, a system of wireless transmission of electricity, the Tesla coil, a system of arc lighting, a generator for high frequency currents, and much more. He also built the hydraulic power plant in Niagara Falls. Many of Nikola Tesla’s discoveries lead to electronic developments for which other scientists were honored.

Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia. Tesla’s family was from a Serbian origin. Nikola Tesla went to college in the University of Prague and an engineering college in Graz. In 1884 He came to the United States. He first found a job with Thomas Edison. The two were very apart in backgrounds and fights began. They eventually separated from working together.

On May in 1885 there was some arguments about which current system the industrial America should use. Thomas Edison greatly suggested using direct-current systems (DC). This system though had distance limitations and required lots of inconvenient commutators. Nikola Tesla had a better idea of using alternating-current system (AC). This system had a lot of better qualities. This system can go farther, was simpler in design, and the energy is more efficiently produced. Nikola Tesla’s idea was eventually used.

Nikola Tesla later established his own laboratory. There he was able to let his mind run free. In his laboratory he experimented with shadowgraphs, a carbon button lamp, and all types of lighting. The Tesla coil was invented in 1891. The Tesla coil is used even today in televisions, radios, and all kinds of other electronic equipment.

The Tesla coil is able to shoot arcs of lighting across far distances at high frequencies. The certain frequency the Tesla coil was set on could send high voltages of electricity through the human body without harming it. If a person has every thing just right lighting bolts should fly out of one end of a persons body. I would not try this at home without knowing the exact settings to set the Tesla coil before performing this. One time in his laboratory Nikola Tesla turned on a Tesla coil and he started to read a book with lightning bolts flying around him. He took a picture of this event to prove a point about his invention.

Nikola Tesla was a man ahead of his time. He was a skilled inventor with other unique qualities. He was out to create a better world for all people. He was a genius of all time. He was the man who built the power plant in Niagara Falls; he invented the Tesla coil, Tesla generator, and Tesla radio. He even invented a system of wireless transmission of electricity. Nikola Tesla died on January 7, 1943 in New York City, New York.
