The Prophecy Page V:The Showdown
There is an intersection on the road of destiny, in which, all travelers will be forced to realize the startling existence of an Omnipotent God. There is a coming opportunity for the entire human family to witness a God that rules the vast stretches of the entire universe in absolute power. Isaiah 42:5; 44:6-8. There is a juncture in the crux of history where the iron curtains of perdition must be pryed open so that the glorious truth of eternal life in Jesus Christ can permeate all misconceptions of Paradise. 2 Corinthians 4:3-7. The modern nation of Russia has a face to face appointment with the living God that will affect the lives of every man, woman, and child on the face of the earth---an extrememly violent appointment I should add. The beautiful thing about God is He offers Russians the option to miss that appointment, and wishes to offer all Russians the free gift of eternal salvation via Jesus Christ who died a torturous death on the cross at Calvary for the forgiveness of all sins. The ancient Scythians settled in southern Russia, and they are said to be the ancestor race of contemporary Russians. Nevertheless, if so, the Lord offers the Russian people salvation by explicitly naming them in the pages of the Holy Bible. Colossians 3:11. But, let it be known that for this prophecy we won't dwell on the book of Colossians alone---No ! In the preamble of Ezekiel 38 the prophet was inspired to write "And the Word of the Lord came to me,saying. Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Rosh, Meschesh, and Tubal, and prophesy against him. and say thus saidth the Lord God; behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws". From this inscription it is recorded that God is against this nation, and it's leadership. The economic woes of the former Soviet Union which once was a dominant player in the world's economy will cause her to attempt to take tiny Israel by force. According to a WCBS news report the average Russian citizen earned $45.00 a month (2000-1). Regardless, we'll see why Russia will militarily take action against Israel, and why Israel is specified later on. But, God will take control of Russia, like taking control of a gigantic war horse. "and put hooks into thine jaws. And I will bring thee forth,and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour: even a great company with bucklers and shields. All of them handling swords". It should be noted that the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan demonstrates the Russians still use mounted horsemen side by side with mechanized armaments. Also, if weopons of antiquity are sole used (Which I seriously doubt, and I'll reserve a reason later on)it could indicate a worldwide petroleum shortage. The word "Rosh" is translated "Chief Prince", and it is said to be a corroded form of Russ or today's Russia. Meanwhile, by combining antiquated Magyan, Estonian, Finnish, Assyrian, Babylonian, and even Chinese text, the prefix 'Ma' appears to indicate 'place'. The word 'Mugul' was a corroded form of Magog.While once the Mongols were a powerful race under ruler, Genghiz Khan, today they live in small communities throughout various parts of Indo-European territory. They retained their linguistic connections prior to the migratory movements of Tartars. The nation of Mongolia is a landlocked country currently situated between Russia and China, and during the Cold War era it became a Soviet satellite with heavy dependence upon Moscow for technical assistance. The people of Meschech an Tubal were said to once have resided in Asia Minor, and on ancient Assyrian monuments their name was written in the form of "Muskaa",or "Moskhi" as early scholars refered to them. Incidentally, Moscow is the only major city that lies directly north of Jerusalem. The Assyrians also knew of the tribe Tubal which they wrote as "Tubla". Also dubbed the Tibereni by early geographers,and to the Romans who knew of their settlements in Asia Minor the region was called "Caearea Mazaca". To make a long story short, Meschech is Moscow, and Tubal is the central Russian city of Tobolsk. The prophecy continues in Ezekiel 38:5....."Persia, Cush, and Phut with them: all of them with shield and helmet. Gomer, and all his bands: the house of Togarmah of the north quarters; and all his bands: and many people with thee". Persia is of course Iran which Russia is seeking to attract as a new ally. Also, due to Russia's superb weopon manufacturing ability, and Iran's willingness to pay hard cash for weopons (esp.nuclear technology) Bible prophecy says one day the two will be linked. Will the current political turmoil Iran is facing prompt it's political leaders toreject western style liberties, and pursue closer ties with Russia ? Today, many Russians feel rejected and humiliated by many of the European nations. Their feelings are akin to how the Germans felt at Versailles after WW1. In response, they have decided to seek alliances outside of Europe's boundaries. Cush is modern Ethiopia, and other nations that make up the horn of Africa as explained in my other paper:The Prophecy Page 3. Phut is modern Libya, and most of northern Africa. Gomer is a son of Japheth,and his family was said to have settled initially north of the Black Sea near the Cimmeria region (Eventually shortened to Crimea). Most were believed to have migrated west,but during the 7th century B.C. when the Scythians invaded their lands many fled to Asia Minor. Later under Assyrian records it was believed by many historians they were refered to as the "Kimirra". With Median assistance they sought to launch an incursion into Assyria, but were defeated by Assyrian leader, Esarhaddon in 677 B.C.. They were driven eastwards where they laid siege to and overthrew Elippi. Others fled west into Asia Minor where they fought against Sinope and Antandro. Eventually, they invaded Lydia around 687-653 B.C. (The Gyges). The Lydians for their part sent appeals to Nineveh (The Assyrian capital) for help,but the Lydian king was slain before the Assyrians could respond.The capital Sardis was taken. Many of the Gomerites went as far west as Spain and France. Could the word "Galatia" have been a derivative from Gomer ? According to the Romans these people were said to have come from Asia Minor,and some settled in Spain (Galatia),France (Gaul),and Briton (Celts). The Gomerites were refered to as "A restless bunch, much of the time on the move and extremely warlike. Where they settled they tended to form a kind of military aristocracy, and when they moved there was scarcely any stopping them". It is possible that the very name 'Germany' is a twisted version of their name. The aforementioned description could easily describe Germany of the contemporary period. In regards to quality (and war capability) the Germans are the undisputed masters of war under a dictatorial regime:The German armed forces are ranked first in the world, and to this day Russian military commanders dread the German war making capability. France prefered her divided, and the rest of Europe monitors her behavior. Togarmah is believed to be connected to the Armenians (A former republic of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), or possibly the Turks. In their folklore they are said to be the ancestors of a man named Hiak: The claim is he is the son of Targom, one of Noah's grandsons. Armenians are said to be of the House of "Tu-Gamamu". Whether of Turkish or Armenian stock both localities are south of Russia, and to the northern region of Jerusalem. However, if Togarmah is of Turkish origin this indicates during the Russian attack on Western Europe and the Mid-east the people of Korea, Mongolia, possibly Japan and other regions of the far east Asia will be included. Daniel 11:44; Isaiah 13:17-19. Why ? Because Mongols are considered ethnic cousins of Turks whose name probably means "strength". The Mongolian language is still spoken in Central Asia and Eastern Siberia: Yakutia. Also, the people of Turkey, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia learn each others language very easily, because the languages are grammatically kin called "Altaic". Chinese records reveal the Tu-Kue of the 6th century A.D. whom were also known as the Hsiung-Nu or "Uncooked Barbarians". Was the Great Wall founded as a method of keeping them out of China ? Nevertheless, the Lord says to Russia...."Be thou prepared,and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee,and be thou a guard unto them". Russia, indeed, Russia will lead these nations against Israel. They will benefit from her added manpower, adroit use of military hardware, logistics, international influence and persuasiveness, and leadership qualities. When will this invasion occur ? There will be two. The first may occur within a propinquity of time, in whence, Russia will enter WW3. Daniel 11:44. The second invasion attempt will follow the millenium period after satan is loosed from his prison(Along with millions of other peoples), and Christ is ruling the world for a 1,000 year period. Revelation 20:6-10. Continuing in verse 8 "...after many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have always been waste: but is brought forth out of the nations, and they that dwell safely all of them". This passage refers to those of the Judaic/Israelite diaspora; in which, Israel was punished via being scattered into the earth's various population groups. It refers to physical Israelites who have accepted Christ,and Gentiles whom have accepted Christ as well. Revelation 7:9 (Chapter 7 overall); Ezekiel 37. During the millenium they will dwell safely, because Christ shall dwell with them. Psalm 110:1; Revelation 20:1-5. Peace comes from her Author whom resides above. Only the leadership abilities of Jesus Christ, and the conversion power of the Holy Spirit will lead to a true lasting peace in the Middle East. In order for true peace to occur the hearts and minds of men must be replaced by Jesus Christ. Galatians 5:22-26. Beginning with verse 9 "....Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee....." . Here is why I believe weopons of antiquity will not be used, because the language describes a scenario involving a means towards air travel, and the author probably had no way to describe today's military terminology: More likely Ezekiel was describing Russia's duplicated version of Desert Storm's lightning like attack via warplanes--Russian style. " Thus saidth the Lord God, it shall also come to pass, that at that time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages: I will go to them that are at rest that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates." There is that instigating nut from the Bible who kept using that pronoun "I" on opposition to the Word of God (previously) who shall be behind that invasion. Isaiah 14:13-14. Incidentally, today the Mid-east is the largest importer of military hardware on earth. Today, Israel cannot be described as a land of unwalled villages. Here I am going to pause for a moment on the book of Ezekiel, and inject some more players into this volatile chess board. In January 2001 Iran threatened retaliation against Israel if Lebanon or Syria was attacked. And Iraki and Syrian Generals now have meetings which is a step away from their previous Baath relationship. In her efforts to woo new allies (And she will have alot in the last days. Revelation 9:12-21.) Russia could easily (Someday as an excuse) move against Israel with her new found allies as America moved against Irak with hers. Let's make it more dangerous, and throw in a Psalm that could have easily been described for such a contemporary recipe:Psalm 83. "Keep not thou silent, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still. O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty council against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation: that the name of Israel may no more be remembered. For they have consulted together with one consent: They are confederate against thee: the tabernacles of Edom (The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan), and the Ishmaelites of Moab (The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and other parts of the Arab community), and the Hagarenes, Gebal, and Ammon (The Hashemite kingdom of Jordan), Amalek (I am unsure on the identity of the Amalekites; however, I believe they are still in the Mid-east, and if they still threaten Israel then they are still on the Lord's hit list. Exodus 17:14-16); the Philistines (The Palestinians) with the inhabitants of Tyre (Lebanon--Lebanon's Hezballah guerillas continue to operate against Israel's northern frontiers despite the year 2000s withdrawal by the Israeli army, and their South Lebanese Army allies) Assur (Syria) also is joined with them they have holpen (assisted) the children of Lot (The Arabs). Selah". Sounds familiar ? Libyan leader Moammar Khaddafy once said in his opinion all Islamic nations from Morrocco in northwestern Africa to populous Indonesia in the Far-east should wage war against Israel. The Palestinian charter once specified Israel should be taken over. And Iran under Khomeini once felt she should be destroyed. When Yasser Arafat traveled to Tehran in the mid 80's, and asked how Palestinians should defend against Israel he was told, "Go, take a place by force, and say I will set my home here". From the book "Revolutionary Iran". Moreover, Jesus indicated before His second coming true Christians will be in the land of Israel. Matthew 24:16. The book of Revelation states that those who get the victory over the beast, over his image, over his mark, and over the number of his name "will sing the song of Moses". Revelation 15:2-3. The aforementioned nations will threaten both physical Israel. What nations are mentioned in the song of Moses ? " The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed: the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them.: all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away". Exodus 15:14-15. While Jordan will be a safe haven for the church during Great Tribulation the Russian invasion of Israel will come before the Great Tribulation. Daniel 11:41; Isaiah 16:4 (Although later prophecies show Jordan will be invaded too). Instead, the revised coming Roman Empire will conquer Israel after having her power challenged by this gigantic Eur-Asian confeder
