FISHER PASS MONUMENT COMMITTEE
"To Honor Carl G. Fisher For His Contributions"
This committee is trying to get Private, Historic, and Government people and agencies to join a partnership with the Fisher Pass Monument Committee, to get a monument built for Carl G. Fisher. The Pass is known to many as Johnson Pass, Utah State Route Highway 199, it is thirty two miles Southwest from Tooele, Utah. We are not trying to rename the Pass because the Johnson name is History in itself, we are just trying to get a Monument on top of if for its Creator, Carl G. Fisher.
Carl G. Fisher donated $25,000.00 to the State of Utah in 1918 to make a short cut on the Transcontinental Lincoln Highway cutting out fifty miles of the worst road conditions then exsisting on the Lincoln Highway. Along with getting the Pass through he was the founder and creator of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Miami Beach, Dixie Highway, Historic Transcontinental Lincoln Highway, Montauk NY known to many as Miami Beach of the North. So you see, this man done alot for the people of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Also this webpage and the whole project is in memory of my late husband and historian on this project Mr.Thomas A. See and Ms. Norma Berns thanks for the first $1000.00 Norma to get the ball rolling.
