CONFERENCE AUTHORITY


1939-1 P 34 Resolved, and unanimously supported, that, two-thirds majority of all ministers and deacons present will be necessary to amend any former conference article: with the privilege that the number for and against may be recorded.

1946-2 P 44 Conference Delegates
Ministers and deacons are recognized as delegates in General Conference and General council, and congregations without a minister or deacon may choose a layman to be their representative at such meetings.

1950-1 P 52 Voting Procedures
Article 1,1939 Conference shall be amended to read: Resolved, A 75 percent majority vote of all delegates present will be necessary to adopt, amend, or repeal any Conference article. Two thirds majority vote of all delegates shall be required to enact or repeal a Conference Council resolution.

1956-4. P 65 Amending or Repealing Conference Articles
Resolved, It requires the votes of two-thirds of the delegates present to amend, repeal, or adopt Conference articles, the same as Conference Council articles.

1959-8. P 76 Ballot Vote
Resolved, That all doctrinal matters be submitted for a ballot vote by all delegates present. Matters considered doctrinal are to be thus decided in Ministers’ Council prior to conference.

1962-1 P 85 Voting Procedure
Article 4 of our 1956 General Conference was retained.

1967-8 P 94 Should We Have a Delegate Conference or Continue as in the Past?
Resolved, that we continue with the present system of General Conference.

1974-1. P 101 Conference Voting
Resolved, We adhere to our former decision, Art.4 of 1956 Conference
