2. Marriage Out of the Lord
Reconsideration of the Marriage article, No.6 of the 1909 Conference ?.

No agreement was reached for amendment; therefore Art. 17 of the 1917 Conference remains unchanged. (Refer to Art. 2, 1939 Conference.)
28 1933 GENERAL CONFERENCE
CONFERENCE COUNCIL
October 31-November 3, 1933
1. Spiegel Der Wahrheit
Requested that the Spiegel der Wahrheit be translated into the English language. It was fully agreed to do this work. A committee shall be chosen to supervise this work and a subscription should be taken to finance it. As soon as the committee decides that sufficient funds have been subscribed, the translation shall be undertaken.
2. Presiding Ministers
Resolved, That we provide every congregation with a presiding minister. Conference unanimously agreed that, wherever possible, they should be supplied:
3. Programs
Consider Christmas and Endeavor programs.
Conference agreed to leave this for each presiding minister and his congregation.
4. Expensive Funerals
Conference unanimously agreed to discourage expensive funerals, coffins, vaults, and monuments.
5. Relief
Consider a better system to provide for the needy, also consider unemployment relief, old people's and widows' pensions. Conference unanimously agreed that in all cases the needy, aged, widows, and orphans should first consult with the deacons and ministering brethren. (Refer to Art. 8, 1939 Conference Council.)
6. Choir Singing
Consider choir singing at funerals, etc.
Conference unanimously agreed to use their best endeavors to prohibit choir singing. (Refer to Art. 2, 1956 Conference.)
7. Taking of Mortgages
Consider the taking of mortgages on personal property and real estate, and their foreclosures. The majority voted to permit the above when wanted for protection of loans. No violence should be used in foreclosure.
8. Sunday School Quarterlies
Conference unanimously agreed that the ministers' council should appoint a committee to arrange to have our own Sunday school quarterlies. Ministers' council failed to see an open way at present, consequently present quarterlies may be used.
9. Knowledge of the True Church
Resolved, That we, especially ministers and deacons, acquire a better knowledge of the ground of the Church of God. Conference unanimously agreed that we supply this lack by printing tracts, translating the Mirror of Truth, etc.
10. Editors, etc., of Church Publications
Resolved, That editors, assistant editors, and other officers required for our Church publications be elected by Conference. Conference unanimously agreed to the above, also allowing that such officers may be appointed in our General Ministers' Council.
11. Parties, Reunions, etc.
Consider birthday parties, large wedding dinners, and family reunions. Conference unanimously agreed to discourage birthday parties, large wedding dinners, and family reunions. (Refer to Art. 32, 1956 Conference.)
12. Church Hymnals
Consider the printing of our own hymnals and the reprinting, with notes, of our German songbooks. Conference unanimously agreed that at present we are not in a position to comply with either of the above. (Refer to Art. 3, 1942
Conference Council.)
13. Joining Farm Organizations
Consider the NRA [National Recovery Administration], wheat allotment, and joining the Farm Bureau. Conference agreed that we should not join Farm Bureaus. There were no commitments as to NRA and wheat allotments. (Refer to Art. 12, 1993 Conference.)
14. Colonization Committee
Consider choosing a Colonization Committee.
Conference left this over for the Ministers' Council. Ministers’ Council chose Brothers Sam Dirks, Enoch H. Schmidt, Montezuma; A. C. Wedel, Greensburg; Alf 1. Yost and John M. Boeckner, Moundridge, all of Kansas, for this committee.
15. Church History

The Ministers' Council chose Bro. F. C. Fricke, Ithaca, Michigan, to take full charge of this work. (A history was later written by john M. Penner.)
16. Attendants at Marriages
Majority agreed not to prohibit nor encourage best man and brides maid at marriages.
17. Avoidance
Consider the avoidance of members who claim they were unconverted when they were baptized, and later became disloyal and were expelled. Conference unanimously agreed to practice the avoidance the same as though they had been converted; since if they were not converted, they should have repented instead of becoming disloyal and thus being expelled.
18. Negligent Members
Consider how to deal with members who repeatedly neglect participating at Communions.
Conference unanimously agreed that such members should be taken into consideration, which might help prevent disloyalty.
19. Aid Plan
Consider the aid plan and automobile liability insurance. No decision made at this time. (Refer to Art. 10, 1946 Conference.)
20. Acceptance of a Divorced Person
Can a person that in his or her unconverted state married a divorced person and afterwards became converted be received into the Church fellowship?
Conference finds no scriptural grounds to refuse them. (Refer to Art. 3d, 1983 Conference.)

Concerning both sexes swimming and bathing together in the same pool, stream, or beach.
Conference unanimously agreed that this should not be tolerated. (Refer to Art. 9, 1959 Conference.)
