Every few seconds a woman is beaten by the one who claims to love her most. Just take a moment to think about that. Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, wives, and yes, someone you know.

I'd like to tell you about a woman I know. Her name is Sharon. I've known her for years and have always known of her to be a kind and giving person. She lived with her highschool sweetheart and worked hard everyday. She has two beautiful daughters and always gave them what they needed and most of what they wanted. She always seemed to be a happy person. Little did we know, Sharon was being abused. She never told, and we never saw. One night, a few years ago, Sharon and her boyfriend went out to dinner with friends. An argument started over something very small, and the night ended with the loss of a life. Her face was swollen and the blood vessels had burst from being choked. The fight lasted for alittle while, then when he went in the room on her daughter, she got the gun and fired. One shot, and it changed the lives of more people than we will ever know. She is in prison now. And a man lost his life. He was abused so much as a child, it was all he knew. He was programmed by harm, to do harm. Mothers', teach your boys and girls. It's not ok to hit, and it's not ok to stay. There is always help. If you are abused or know someone who is, don't just let it go. DO SOMETHING. TELL SOMEONE. Talk to that person until they leave. Go to their friends, go to their family. Just help. I'm here to help in any way I can. Just want to talk? I'm a good listener too. By the way, Sharon is my sister. I miss her very much. Don't let my family's story end up being yours. GET HELP!!!!!
