Floating in the Clouds

hello. you have found my website. i've titled it "floating in the clouds" because that is often what i do. i like to daydream a lot and i thought it was appropriate. i am gonna have lots of interesting things on here. there will be things about me, things about my family, things about my friends and things about other people, maybe even YOU. so if you have any questions, email me at evenstareleni@hotmail.com or im me at arwenundomiel9. its kind of long, so i have inserted one- or two-word descriptions at the beginning of each paragraph. if they don't interest you, skip to something that does.

ME:
i am almost 21, female, i am an american, i am proud of it. i am a born-again believer in the Lord. this is a turn-off for a lot of people and i don't really like it when that fact is the only thing they see about me. my religious beliefs embody who i am, but it does not mean i am going to judge you for not believing the same thing.

GOD:
God is a very important part of my life. i do not like "religion," which to me, is set rules for how you should live your life. what i have is more of a relationship, personal, intimate, like you have with your mom or dad or brother or sister or best friend. i know the God of the universe like an old pal, and its cool. i am not trying to be sacriligious, only setting my thoughts out so you can see who i am as a person and how i think. God is my friend.

SPIRIT:
but there's something else that attracts me to God- i have an obsession with the spirit realm. have you ever felt the presence of other spirits? i have felt God. i have met Him in my dreams. i have felt angels, and met them in my dreams. i have felt demons, and met them in my dreams. i keep on being friends with God because i am so obsessed with knowing everything there is to know about Him- which is everything. how does the spirit world work? i have put so much thought, time, and creative writing into this idea that to abandon it now would be like a lifetime of work down the drain- and i am only 20. even before i knew what the spirit world was, i knew there was something like it there. when i was 4 i had a minor eye problem (something almost pre-cataract), which made me see little floaters, so i thought it was my soul and that i had the privelege of seeing it. when i was 5 i saw "ghosts" and lights in my house. when i was 6 my dreams began. i have not abandoned this fascination yet.

cool semi-related quote: "All people dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind, wake in the morning to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people, for they dream their dreams with open eyes, and make them come true." ~ T.E. Lawrence (AKA Lawrence of Arabia)

SCHOOL:
i have just completed my junior year at Rutgers State University, and after much deliberation, i have declared a major in Theater Arts and a minor in Italian. don't ask me what i want to do with that. i will enter the "real" world when i am almost 22, and i plan to change careers every 5 years or so. by the time i turn 65 and retire, i'll know more than you, but you will know one area more in depth than anything i could ever dream of knowing about. ok ok that was a preposition at the end of a sentence. You know what? this is my website. i don't care.

PASSIONS/DISLIKES:
anyway, i have a passion for the church youth group called Chosen Generation. i truly love them all like siblings. i miss being a cell group leader and being involved in the drama group and volunteering at Starlight Farm. i beleive strongly in the power of prayer. i took a summer semester in Italy in the summer of 2003 to practice my Italian language skills, and it was fun and enlightening. i went on a missions trip to England in 2001, and it was "wicked!" (*snaps fingers like all the cool people in England do*). i like falling rain and spring peepers, hot august thunderstorms, walking barefoot in the ocean, voices reading poetry, foggy summer nights, dancing in english puddles, playing with puppies in the moonlight, watching leaves fall off trees, Cathe and company, big brothers, Kevin, and all the guys i grew up with who have been to or are in Iraq (but not in any particular order), and all my friends from school, Chi Alpha and Jujitsu Club. but most of all, i like God. he's my dancing rhythm. i dislike: abuse to others, anyone harming my "babies", injustice, people believing lies, stroganoff, snowless winters, rainy autumns, 2003, not being able to ice skate because the ice is slushy despite the fact that it is .5 degrees out, fire alarms, stuffy noses, precalculus, back falls in jujitsu, new brunswick water, and throwing up. And throwing up as a result of new brunswick water. so that's pretty much about me.

MY FAMILY: (biological family i mean)
i have the best brother and i love both my parents. my brother has a couple of web pages of his own, and if i can figure out how, i will include a link to them. i have a cat named Fluffy, she's considered family. she understands english i swear! Unfortunately, about a month and a half after i wrote that last sentence, she was hit by a car. Sweet dreams, little princess...

MY RODENTS:
(mice) when i was in 7th grade, i managed to convince my parents to let me get two mice (Sushi and Apache Dawn). when they died, i got two more (Chocolate and Prince- separate cages of course), and then two more (Bandit and Patches)... finally, i was ready to take a break from mice. during my first semester at college though, i got it in my head to get another two. but it ended up being 3 because my friend wanted one, but i would take care of it (Miss Tim, Enigma, and Athena). when one of those three got a little fat, i realized she had been pregnant when i bought her, thus beginning a soap opera saga on the mouse family television. Enigma (so named because i didn't understand why she was acting the way she was acting at first) had 9 babies. three died young, three got sent back to the pet shop (Louie, Clark, and Hudson), two i gave away, and i kept the runt, Puzzle. then my mom had the bright idea that Miss Tim, the other mouse, should have a litter of her own. enter Taylor, Miss Tim's "husband," who in true soap opera fashion, moved into his own apartment as soon as i knew for sure she was pregnant. he continued to send child support until the *11* children were out on their own. (count'em, eleven!!) i gave four of them to friends, but i was left with four young males and two females. now, i realize that only adds up to ten. i don't remember the eleventh. i just know there were eleven of them. poor thing- my psych teacher would have a ball. talk about the lost child syndrome. anyway, one of the males died young and unnamed (how tragic! *sobs*), the two albinos were named Pinky and Brain, and the one that looked like his dad was named Dasher. the two females were named Rosie Cotton and Goldberry. Now, if you know anything about mice, you know they don't live very long- two years if they are very lucky. and if you know anything about reproduction, any creature that shares the womb with another is going to be born at the same time and be about the same age. consequently, all my mice died this summer. Brain was the only one left- and that's ironic, because albinos are supposed to die sooner. i guess he just did it to spite all those mice who made fun of him because he didn't look like them. but, finally, a few months into the spring semester, he went too. now i'm taking a break from pets.

(rats) i have also had 2 rats, Cappucino and Shelob, but they got old and went the way of old animals. rats are the best. everyone should have a rat in their life time. its like taking care of a two year old. seriously. thats the mental age of a rat, on a human scale.

(the latest) my mom doesn't like animals too much. my dad doesn't like having to find someone to take care of our pets when we go away. so when a friend called to tell me my mom adopted a nameless guinea pig, i had my doubts. the clincher that she was lying was when she said my dad liked it. surprisingly, no one lied, and we really do have a guinea pig now. i don't care for guinea pigs... they are delicacies in South America. but i like animals, so she's sitting in my lap as i type this. but this little creature has brought her little share of drama with her. mom promptly named her Lilly. three of her four biological/informally-adopted children immediately said "what kind of name is that for a guinea pig?" so the poor thing, after having no name except "piggy" for most of its life, now has to answer to Peanut, Lilly, Reese, and something else that i can't even remember. Governor or something like that. and i've taken to calling her Buggerboo and Fatso. this ought to be interesting.

and my FRIENDS from home:
Cathe, Brittany, Kevin, Tiffany, Adam, Rachel, Danna, Jayne, Krissy, Diana, Rachel, Joey, Rick, and the list goes on. But i will stop now, while i still have control of my thoughts. hehehe. they are all the best. i do have to say though, that i have included a link to Kevin's web page in my links, so if you want to see his, there you go! if i missed anyone, please let me know. i would love to add you to my list. :)
