ezekiel ufo encounter 2 gilgal mission glory 951bc
ENCOUNTER 2
B 74, 96, 105, 113 a week to about a year later, 951 BC. No date or
conclusion given to the encounter.
[Commentators conclude the verses are a later addition. -i.e. see E75]
This setting down of the divine throne in another location called bik'a,
the flat part of the valley[E77],
seems remarkably lifeless compared with the dynamic motion of Encounter
1.
This location is where Ezekiel later sees bones raised back to
life[37:1+].
3:22 - 24 The hand of Yahweh came upon me there, and he said to me,
'Rise up; go out into the plain, and there I will speak to/with you.
So I rose and went out into the plain.
And, lo, the glory of Yahweh was/stood there, like the glory which I had
seen by the river Kebar,
and I threw myself down/fell on my face. -/Then a/And spirit
came/entered into me and stood me on my feet,
and spoke to me./. Then he spoke with me: 'Go, he said,..
As at the start and end of the last Encounter, the 'Hand of the Lord'
effects Ezekiel.
The craft, surrounded by what is now called the 'glory of Yahweh',
doesn't need describing
as its very like or the same as that of the week before.
It must be remembered that Ezekiel does not usually name craft
themselves or specify how many there are.
He simply classifies any visible craft or sections as a/the 'vision[s]'
and 'cherub[im]/ living creature[s].
It is changes in their operational appearance/glory which he names.
The undercarriage is not mentioned. Either it is not there, or exactly
the same as in earlier encounters.
It isn't mentioned at first in Encounter 3 [see 8:4, 9:3]
He falls on his face. A 'spirit' [different to the one also translatable
as wind [see 3:14] enters into him and sets him upon his feet.
As in the first encounter, Ezekiel does not specifically identify the
voice source.
As in the first encounter, he feels restored & strengthened. Religious
communications follow.
As in modern encounters the contacter tries to convince Ezekiel that he
is on a mission for God.
Ezekiel, though, was quite a stubborn customer.
For instance, he never vocally carried out his mission of summoning his
nation to repentance, despite repeated demands.
CRITIQUE of NUTS n' BOLTS SCENARIO
Even if it is accepted that some form of beings and craft are involved
in encounters, numerous factors don't easily support the nuts n' bolts
idea:
[1] The visions seem mainly insubstantial, composed of shape-shifting,
manifesting, moving, glowing and rainbow-like forms [COMPOSED is an apt
word]. Nothing is mentioned about heat, shadow, smell, definite colour
or specific dimensions/height[synastheisia?]. Taste is only mentioned in
relation to the 'sweet scroll'. Ezekiel never mentions touching anything
solid. The vision is in continual flux yet constantly coherent.
The 4 bluish sea coloured wheels/spheres non volitionally merge into 1
and vice-versa [see Biblical Commentary Matthew Henry, 1960] 2] No noise
is recorded until 1:24 and even this passage describing noisy manoeuvres
may be an editorial insertion. [3] No actual physical [only
spiritual]connections are mentioned between any 'sections' of the craft
[1:26, 9:3, 10:1] [4] No 'upper capsule' covering, clear or otherwise is
mentioned in any encounter [see 1:26,10:1] [5] No physical reactor is
mentioned [6] the creatures are given no definite shape or number of
legs.
These sort of ambiguities are not just the result of editing and
misinterpretation through the ages
[which have made Ezekiel seem to have a split personality B145-6].
They are part and parcel of any UFO phenomenon.
In fact, the book of Ezekiel [and the Bible!] itself acts like a UFO in
written form!
The more you try to pin down what lies behind it all, the more it leads
your curiosity on.
Flying Sorcery? -[Shamanistic] aspects similar to those in modern
Encounters
As a result of these encounters, Ezekiel is:
struck/made dumb except when used as a medium for missionary type
messages [Information is given to the prophet, never vice-versa].
gives symbolic performances to convey messages received from a voice
which he hears in his head
[It is this voice in the head which he consistently calls 'the Lord',
not the form] and going into trances].
Audiences watched him as entertainment. [33?]
He did such things as climbing through a wall with an exile's pack on
his back, acting out the clandestine flight of the king from the fallen
city;
has trances and sees other strange visions. .
Under instructions from the 'visitors' he also eats scant siege rations
for many days.
Presumably they [and he?] know this will enhance his 'shamanistic'
abilities. Before and after visions, the power of a spirit stands the
prophet on his feet, lifts him up, and carries him great distances
[through the air?],
sometimes to significant esoteric sites on sacred alignments [Gilgal].
This spirit is different to the one which can be rendered wind/
propeller power [B13].
It may even be the source of the various voices which Ezekiel 'hears and
does not directly attribute to any 'form'..
Other post encounter eccentricities include cutting short his hair and
beard, lying rigid/motionless[sometimes for long periods].
The first visions took place at Gilgal [BRownlee]? an ancient cultic
site used by mystic sects for shamanism /receiving oracles.
They took place in a cleft [the word is popularly interpreted as 'plain'
] in a geologically active area full of earth energies.
Ezekiel, a chosen priest, would have gone there expecting to see a
vision[s]/ lights in an altered state of consciousness.
The source behind the vision would expect him to go there on a regular
basis.
The vision[s] triggered by the electrical storm/earth energies had
shamanistic trance features:
1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man in
front;
the four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face
of a bull on the left side,
and the four had the face of an eagle at the back.
Like shamans and other tribal religious representatives, he sees/hears
personal archetypal spirits in a trance.
In this case, spiritual personifications of the powers of nature, pagan
gods, [the flying living creatures] manifest.
They have the faces of an ox, cherub, man and eagle. These later become
symbols of the 4 evangelists.
The fiery formed spirit of Yahweh, though, appears distinct from and
ruling over them [BR414, Zohar].
It is this spirit which inspires and gives strength to Ezekiel as the
tribal shaman.
These flying living creatures and wheels are now deified as living
angels [see Zohar].
Ezekiel, though, doesn't Capitalise their name.
1:17 'Their legs were a straight leg = [when at rest] their feet
appeared to be one foot.
This is why people are asked to pray with their feet close together, as
though they were one, to be liklikened to the angels. [see Mans
religious Quest W Foy p3
Interpreters bible - 71 Septuagint LXX their feet were winged?
1:18 WHEELS with EYES
The creatures and wheels have actual [not a likeness of] omniscient
eyes.
Strange eyes which are a significant factor in modern encounters can
have awesome power over humans.
Storm-induced encounters involving gigantic living moving wheels studded
by pinpoints of light have resulted in:
[i] the shamanistic use of medicine wheels and/or
[ii] rainmaking practises, using ritualistic chanting and
circular/spinning movement
[Ezekiel specialised in dramatic enactments].
Hebrew rainmakers include Elijah. [see 2Sam 21:6,9-14 Isaiah 57:5, Jer
7:31 39:5 Ti 385-6,392]]
In fact, Yahweh, the form above the wheels, is ultimately a mountain
spirit of storms.
