Topography is the shape of the land. An areas topography may be flat, sloping, hilly, or mountainous. Elevation is the height above sea level of a point on earth's surface.
Relief is the difference in elevation between it's highest and lowest point. Landforms are features of topography by process that shapes earth's surface.
Weathering is the process that breaks down frock and other substances on earth's surface.
Erosion is the movement of rock particles by wind, water, ice, or gravity. Machanical Weathering is the type of weathering in which rock is physically broken into smaller pieces. Chemical Weathering is the process that breaks down through chemical change.
Deposition occurs when the agents of erosion lay down by sediment. Sediment is when materials are moved by erosion. Gravity is the force that moves rock and other materials downhill.
Different types of mass movement are landslides, mudslides, slumps, and creeps. Fossils found in rock include petrified fossils, molds and casts, carbon films, and trace fossils. Other fossils form when the remains of organisms are preserved in substances such as tar, amber, or ice.
Relative age of a rock is it's age compared to ages of other rocks. Absolute age of a rock is the number of years since the rock was formed.
