The circuit is (loosely) based on the classic Williamson design. It features custom wound ultralinear output transformers in a low global feedback, low gain, low distortion and low output impedance topology. The parts are all overspecified for longevity, the power supply is overbuilt (computer-grade 'large can' caps, filter choke, high-speed bypasses, solid state rectification) for very stable regulation. This no-nonsense design will deliver all the musical finesse that an audiophile / music lover would expect from a tube amp. This amplifier has proven to be very reliable, the prototype has been running in my reference system for over 2 years on the original set of tubes.

What one person said about this amplifier during evaluation in his system:
"First and foremost, I am really enjoying your amplifier. The sound is quite impressive and what a wonderful thing it is to listen to. The more I listen the more I enjoy it."
-- Clement Perry, Publisher / Editor Stereotimes.com
What another person said after auditioning the amp in his system:
"I was impressed with the audio quality of the Elliott 66-100.
Warm, clean, beautiful sound. I noticed the difference immediately. It took my system significantly higher in listening pleasure."
-- Scott Areman (audiophile), Scott Areman Photography
Here's what I say about the 66-100: (of course I'm biased, I build them!)
This amplifier has a transparent quality that, combined with it's bouncy drive and excellent bass control makes for a truly musical experience. Works great with more difficult loads due to it's low output impedance and high current drive (for a tube amp). Higher sensitivity speakers will reveal it's clear, true nature and ultra low noise. Excellent with rock, jazz or classical music. Will reveal inner detail and layers within the recording while maintianing a stable image and powerful rythmic drive.
I have been developing this amplifier for over 10 years as a hobby and now have perfected the design and want to share it with the world. This amplifier is not garage-built but professionaly produced. No hand-drilled spray painted casework or glued-in capacitors. Ships in sturdy carton with custom foam inserts, tubes ship seperately.
Elliott Studio Arts started in 1998 when a recording studio owner approached me to build him a custom tube mic preamp. I have since built two of those units, modified other studio equipment and built several amplifiers, loudspeaker systems and even a guitar amp. I built my first tube amp in 1988 and haven't looked back since.
Stay tuned for matching preamp featuring RIAA phono stage (MM), mono and mute switches, balance control and transformer coupled output with headphone jack. Also, a scaled down 35 watt version of the amplifier is in the works.
