POETRY BY STARRY NIGHT WRITER

From Sullivan's Short Stories

some days
all i want
is nothing more
and nothing less
than to just
hold his hand

will he ever know?

trees glitter in windows so statuesque
smoke rising from chimneys
carries whispered wishes from childrens' lips
windows fog up in hopes of snow
and a pink-cheeked santa peers from the front lawn
tinkling music plays at every turn
and the salvation army bell rings all night long
it's beautiful and breathtaking and i await it all year
the crunch of snow and warmth of my scarf
flour-dusted cheeks and vanilla scented skin
it is all so bittersweet
without someone
to share it with

the stormy blues and grays of his voice
are more than i can bear
the green of his eyes pierces to the depths
i can't help but falling
i never stood a chance
against being
completely in
love with
him

it looms ahead waiting
a silence pregnant with anticipation
i can already smell the rotting wood and rusted bronze
misshapen stones jut out of the ivy covered wall
i hold my breath as my heart stops
a steady hand reaches out
fingertips brush the cool metal
i come alive
i push it open and step
into the welcoming sunlight
of my imagination
