Damon Alexander - Dsloth And The Vanity Boys
"Dsloth And The Vanity Boys" is the Pheonix that arose from the punk rock ashes when the firey "United Kingdom" finally burned out and disassembled in 1996.
This bold new Damon Alexander creation crushed his stereotypical hardcore punk rock image and established him as a multidimensional artist with unlimited musical potential. Critics could no longer ignore Damon Alexander as a "vulgar outsider preeching garbage to today's lost youth".
Dsloth And The Vanity Boys is a punk/swing music hybrid rock band which formed in late 1997. Long time Damon Alexander right hand man "Jesus Sacrifice" adopted the position of precision bassist "Jon E Vaagrant" (a depature from the aggressive ripping guitar of UK) and was joined by a new face, "Alka Hallman", drum core graduate and death metal enthusiast, to further add depth to their indescribable style. Front man "Dsloth" a.k.a. Damon Alexander would provide the smooth vocals, raw guitar and unique song writing that geniusly blended various styles and influences from "Tony Bennett" to "Morrissey".
This fantastic sonic cohesion finally blossomed to fruition in the spring of 1998 when the band released it's first album "Dsloth And The Vanity Boys - A Series Of Works Both Raw And Beautiful". This masterpiece featured 10 songs and the lyrics focused on a spectrum of emotions with in a loving relationship (longing, romance, fun, fidelity, frienship, etc.) The bulk of this album was recorded in only 10 hours and although it has been masterfully engineered still maintains it's edge - making the title all the more fitting. I highly recommend this album for it's uniqueness amongst the various other Damon Alexander bands, side projects and singles, because it is truly an album that can be appreciated by a wide variety of listeners.
