FREAK SHOW 2004 by Rubin Rivera
Freak Show 2004 was a GREAT show! There were a lot of nice and unique cars represented this past weekend. It was pretty cool that you were able to camp out right next to where you showed your car. It started out as a kind of cool windy day and you would have expected it to get even colder at night, but that wasn't the case at Freak Show! Night-time came and the heat got turned up! It's true what they say, "The FREAKS come out at night!" It was off the chain! Girls on poles, music non-stop and just all-out fun! They had a lot of different contests including beer bong, best tatt, best hair-do, etc. They also had a cruising lane and dirt lot just for people to do donuts. One guy was doing donuts in a jacked-up F150 and flipped the truck upside-down. That was definitely the highlight of the show!! A lot of pictures were taken and a lot of fun was had! A special thanx to those who attended the show and to those who weren't able to go.....THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!!
ATTENTION DC! The LAST Freaky Friday of the year is coming up this weekend, October 29th! We will be meeting up at Sean's at 7:30PM to roll out there! So come on out for a crazy night of fun!

OCTOBER 21, 2004
- A big THANKS to everyone who came to Rubin's surprise birthday party! We all know the look on his face when he saw his cake was priceless!
- We'd also like to welcome our newest member....Brian Mullins! Brian has a white 1996 Camaro with a Flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, blacked-out headlights and tail lights, stage 1 air intake chip and short shifter. He plans on adding a supercharger, new hood, body kit and lowering springs. WELCOME TO DC Brian!!
- We have officially decided to change our club color to royal blue and black, but the change will not take effect until the beginning of next show season. So everyone be saving up between now and then to get new club shirts!
- We have decided to have club meeetings every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Coffee Scene, 7pm, unless posted otherwise
- DC will have its first official bowling league night on November 11th, then every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month through the off-season. Please get with VIP if you're interested so we can set up teams before the 11th!
- Cesar has acquired two sponsorships for us out in Cali: One for 65% off audio equipment and another for rims at cost. Either contact NC VIP or Cesar directly if you need these items.
- REMEMBER! FREAK SHOW THIS WEEKEND!! If you plan on going please get in touch with Rubin for when and where to meet up on Friday night to head out. Remember that the club will be camping out, so pack appropriately, including WARM CLOTHING! Show entry is $30 for 2 weekend passes and a spectator wristband is $10 (gets you in all weekend).
- We are debating on going to Hot Import Nights in Miami on Dec. 11th. Show entry is $53.50 and spectator tickets are $27.50. We are in the process of planning another fundraiser to have funds for this event and will post info as soon as it is available.
- EVERYBODY HAVE A FUN AND SAFE HALLOWEEN!!

- Our next club meeting has been changed to October 19th, 7PM, at the "Coffee Scene" in Westwood Shopping Center. It's located on the back side of the center where CiCi's is, just a little more up toward the theatre.

SEPT. 27th MEETING UPDATE
- We would like to officially welcome our two newest members, Reggie Evans and Roderick Sparks AKA "DJsparkdawg"!! Reggie is joining us with a 1993 Toyota Paseo and Roderick with a 1999 Mercury Cougar. Welcome to Drastik Creation guys!!
- We have modified our Rules & Guidelines. Anyone who wasn't present at the meeting needs to get in touch with VIP to go over and get a copy of the new Rules & Guidelines ASAP
- We are in the process of working on a sponsorship deal and have asked each member to supply us with a "wish list" for their vehicle. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we have any new information on this sponsorship!
- We have officially voted to start a club bowling league, now all that needs to be decided is how often we would like to bowl and what nights are best for everyone. Please post your feedback on the message board.
- It has been decided that each member will pitch in an extra $5 at our next meeting so that we can go ahead and get a banner made and ready before Freak Show. So please remember this on top of your member dues.
- Speaking of meetings.......our next meeting is scheduled for October 15th (also our esteemed VPs B-day!) We have yet to determine a place and time, but will keep you all updated as soon as we have that info available.
- Last, but certainly not least, anyone interested in going to Freaky Friday on Oct. 1st or KlownFest on Oct. 2nd, please contact VIP for meet-up times and places!!
SEPTEMBER 22, 2004
- We're back and finally starting to recover from an AWESOME trip to NOPI this year! The weather was gorgeous and Atlanta Motor Speedway was packed with rad rides! We wish you could have all been there with us to experience it firsthand! We did bring back a video and tons of pictures (of course!) to share with everybody! - We would like to welcome our newest support member...Joseph Anderson....to the club! As soon as he gets his CRX up to standard he will be joining us as a full-fledged member!
- We have a new edition to our current rides....Sean is now the proud poppa of a 1990 Nissan 240SX. He's already well on his way to having this little number beefed up and ready for show! Can't wait to see what she looks like when she's done!
- We have new club cards which most of you saw at the last meeting. They will be custom designed for each member and priced at $2.50/20. Contact Trina to get yours ASAP to replace the old ones! Our new cards are slammin!
- We said a sad farewell to Cesar and Yesenia today as they headed out to California. As upset as we are to see them go, we are also excited for Cesar to get out there and get the California chapter going! And the good news is that they will be rolling back this way for Freak Show!! YAY!!
SEPTEMBER 2, 2004
- The NAPA Parts & Cash Summer Bash show was another success for Drastik Creation!! We walked away with 2 trophies......Sean with 1st place in Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge mild and Cesar with 2nd place in Other Toyota mild. GREAT JOB & CONGRATULATIONS guys!! To see more show pictures CLICK HERE!
- Thanks to everybody who came out to Cesar's going-away party! We had a great time and a ton of good food! A special thanks to Ricky for an awesome job on the grill!
AUGUST 25, 2004
- A BIG THANKS! to all the members who came out in support of the car wash and bake sale last Saturday! We would also like to thank Sonic for the use of their water and parking lot! The car wash was a huge success and we raised over $200 to go toward our trip to NOPI this year! We had a lot of fun and everybody's hard work was very much appreciated! - NOPI registration has been turned in and we have rooms reserved at the Ramada Inn. We almost raised enough money to completely pay for our rooms, but not quite. So as of right now each person will have to pay $15 toward the rooms. We are going to try to leave for NOPI at least by 5PM on Friday, September 17th. If at all possible we would like to leave a little earlier, but we understand that some members won't be off work yet. If you have any questions about NOPI, please contact Trina at 910-497-1060
- Don't forget we are having a cookout on Friday at 6:30 as a going-away party for Cesar!
- For the NAPA Parts and Cash Summer Bash, we will be meeting at USA Discounters on Bragg Boulevard at 7:45AM on Saturday, 28th and leaving NO LATER THAN 8AM!! If you need a room to stay over Saturday night we can book them at Best Western for $63/night. Contact Trina if you have any questions.
AUGUST 17, 2004
- There will be a MANDATORY meeting Thursday night, August 19th, at Sean & Trina's, 7:30PM. This meeting is to discuss NOPI, the car wash and bake sale and the NAPA Parts & Cash Summer Bash show. Please notify VIP if you cannot attend.
- Congratulations to our VP, Sean, who won $200 in parts from a local NAPA store in the NAPA Parts & Cash Summer Bash contest! He has been selected as 1 of 60 finalists at the NAPA show on the 28th-29th. He received FREE entry into the show and now has the chance to win one of the following prizes:
- First prize of $3,000 in NAPA parts and accessories
- Second prize of $1,000 in NAPA parts and accessories
- Third place of $500 in NAPA parts and accessories

- We will be having a club cook-out/going-away party for Cesar on August 27th at Sean & Trina's at 6:30pm. We are asking everyone to please pitch in and help by bringing something. Please RSVP by the 21st so we know how many of you are coming and can let you know what to bring.

AUGUST 5, 2004
- Welcome to our new members:
Cesar Acosta, Tom Dagendesh, Rubin Rivera, Donald Alexander (Alex), and Ricky Bell!
- A decision was reached to set monthly club dues of $5 to be turned in at each meeting. These dues will go to help toward all club expenses.
- NOPI registration DEADLINE is August 15. We HAVE to have an exact headcount by this date so we can start making hotel reservations.
- Cesar Acosta will be PCSing to California at the end of this month, but he will be taking Drastik Creation's name with him and opening a California chapter for us! We are excited to see this new chapter start growing!
- We will be having a car wash and bake sale for the club on August 14. We are still looking into a location and will let you all know ASAP! We need FULL club participation on this one guys!! Come out and represent!
- A T-shirt order will be turned in on the 16th, so anyone who wants shirts needs to get their order and money turned in by then. Also, there will be more business cards made up by the 9th. Contact Sean or Trina to get these. See FOR SALE page for prices.
