Gregory Abbott is someone that you probably have heard of before.Gregory has won numerous awards for his writing and performing abilities.His single "Shake You Down" went platinum and has become the fastest song in the history of BMI to reach one million air plays(now at two million).
"Shake You Down" went to #1 on the Billboard Pop, Black,AC,and Dance singles charts,and was #3 Pop song of the Year in the magazine's year-end review.

D.C.-The opening track is rich with calypso groove layered with smooth as silk vocals.This tune has some interesting lyrics and an extremely catchy melody.A very full sound.(A+)

D.C.-I loved the funky instrumentation in this tune. It gave this cover tune a truely unique depth and color.Gregory has a fabulous voice with a powerful presentation of fluidity in his delivery.(A+)

Do The Caribbean
D.C.-I was expecting a calypso tune here,and that's not what I got.This is more of a R&B tune with a good dance beat.I can see why Gregory coined the term "groove ballad",because this could very well be called a "groove ballad".(A+)

I Can See Clearly
D.C.-I've always loved this Johnny Nash tune,and Gregory hasn't made any major changes.Gregory only lends his masterful vocals to a classic number, thereby making a great tune better.Soulful!!(A++)

Without You
D.C.-Gregory really excells when he does his own material,as in this tune.What an incredible talent this man has,to be able to sing in the ranges he does and to write the tunes like this.Unfortunately this song ran a bit short.(A++)

Carefree Life
D.C.-This tune is jamming with soul and gets you up and dancing.This tune has "HIT" written all over it.
This has excellent lyrics and has a melody that hooks you from start to finish.Grab the album and see if you can stop yourself from playing this track over and over.#1!!!(A++++...)

Aint No Sunshine
D.C.-This album is packed with tremendous keyboards and the sequencing,arrangements,harmonics,and dynamics are fabulous.Another cover tune that is done brilliantly.(A++)

D.C.-It's no wonder that Gregory is loved by the ladies with seductive and sensuous tunes like this.I was ready to pick up the phone and say,"Look out baby 'cause here I come!!".Gregory you got me hooked! (A+++)

D.C.-What a great tune you get here,with two beautiful voices singing this sweet number.It is uplifting and puts you on a different plane spiritually.Another "HIT" tune for this album.(A+++)

One World (One Heart,One Mind)
D.C.-The title track is another "groove ballad" with some more of the brilliant lyrics that I've come to expect from Gregory.This tune has something the other tracks didn't have,some acoustic lead guitar,which added a great deal to the color of the tune.A truely magnificent number that you need to hear to believe.

Shake You Down (Live Version)
D.C.-This tune has the same feel as the original version,with possibly a bit of extra vibrance.The quality of the tune has lost nothing,unlike some of the live versions of songs I've heard in the past.This is still a "#1 CLASSIC".(A++++)

Sin Ti(Without You-Spanish Version)
D.C.-Julio move over Gregory's in the house!This should certainly help Gregory in the international market.A beautiful melody,and as I said on track 5 just a bit too short.(A++)
Donna's overall impression:
What an amazing vocal range Gregory has,and such a beautiful voice.He has a seductive aire and a calming tranquility to his melodies.This is an album that can be put in many different genres,and will appeal to many people.Foremost will be the appeal to the ladies,because Gregory's music is filled with romantic connotations.It will also appeal to the gentlemen when they want to turn the lights down and set the mood.There are also some great dance tunes on this album.This is just one of "those" albums that will age like fine wine,it will only get better and music like this will always be in demand.Romance will never become extinct,so slap this jewel into your player and you too can be a "player"!Contact Drew Levister and tell him you read about Gregory at Downeast Reviews,and pick up your copy here.(A+++)
