I was denied on my first two attempts but was approved after I had my appeal before the judge. On all my paper work I went into great detail in describing how my illness effected my activities of daily life. I provided little details about how I had difficulty bathing or showering everyday due to extreme fatigue and weakness. I explained how hard it was to wash my hair because I couldn't hold my arms over my head long enough to wash it and then blow it dry. I detailed difficulties with fixing meals and cleaning up afterwards. I talked about having problems paying bills and taking care of family business because of brain fog and confusion. I pointed out my inability to drive at times because of slow reaction times and getting lost in familiar settings. I described in detail how I had had to give up the extra activities I loved like teaching Sunday School and being our church music director. I told about how I had missed out on my childrens school activities, things that I had always taken an active part in. I also talked about how much I had loved my career and how much it hurt to leave it behind. I had taken many years to climb to the top of my career ladder and since my kids were out of school it was supposed to be my time.
I think you get the picture!! I just wanted you to see how much detail I think that it really takes to get your point across. I was able to do this without a lawyer which saved me about 4 thousand dollars.
I hope this helps a little, Pam. I well remember what a stressful time it was waiting for that approval to finally come through.
Praying that you get your approval this time and that it comes soon.
Love and Blessings sweet friend!
