Dog Soldiers
We are a friendly group of gamers who enjoy playing Left for Dead. We will be adding another game soon.
Our history is as follows :-
Some of us have been together gaming for a good few years. It all started when we formed Deadstar Company in April 2004. The aim was to create a fun server, and play clan wars for the game Medal of Honour: Spearhead.
Deadstar Company ( DsC|) competed in and dominated two leagues, Pure Mohaa and UK-BOB, both now sadly defunct, as is MOHAA. During that time we made some great friends, and lost some.
The timeline for DsC| can be split into three sections. The first part of our history involved the clan combining a tactical approach to wars and dominating the leagues. This was done through adopting a disciplined squad based approach to matches and enforcing the idea that everyone was working towards the same goal, no matter what their role. We enjoyed a series of victories that saw Deadstar Company rise to the top of the leagues, however, turmoil was not far away and we soon saw three of our main members leave the clan, Death, Gladiator and Chris Cool; to start their own Week-end Warriors clan, ( now defunct).
This setback was overcome, when the second stage saw the bringing in of new blood which improved the squad. This second phase of the clan resulted in even greater domination. Nothing lasts for ever and disagreements soon played a major part in the life of the clan. Founding member Gizzy left and gave up online gaming. In addition several other players left to start their own clans. Stealth and Silence founded SKK. Their departure should have had a serious impact on our ability to win wars, both being key players. Several of the “less gifted” players left to form TS.
The third and final phase was short lived. Having a reputation as a successful and competitive clan, resulted in DsC| having no problems replacing the departed members, in under one week. We brought in four new European players who quickly picked up the tactics and played in a match against SKK. DsC| dominated and won a massive victory over SKK who, sadly folded soon after.
The end of DsC| followed soon after. By this time we had great difficulty in finding clans that wanted to play us. In addition, gaming was moving on but Mohaa had stayed static, not supported by EA Games, in our view. Deastar and Cerci decided to close DsC| down in August/September 2006.
In October 2006, Deadstar put together Dog Soldiers (with ex DsC|Death), a clan for CSS. Joining Ds| were ex-DsC| members, Psycho, Cerci, Tom and Black Widow. This clan was to be just for fun. The fun element lasted for some time.
In December 2007 Deadstar and Cerci started Wolfhound (WFH|) again with Pscho and Blackwidow. WFH| went from strength to strength. More ex-Ds| members soon joined WFH|. January 2008 saw Deadstar leave the clan and quit online gaming due to work.
August 2008 saw the resurrection of DsC|,by Deadstar and Cerci. Going back to our roots, in Day of Defeat Source, a WW2 first person shooter. The resurrection also saw some other ex-DsC| members coming together again;, Psycho, Black Widow, and Mr Muffin man. We also saw ex Ds and WFH member Reaper join.
This incarnation of DsC only lasted a short time due to the difficulty of finding players committed to DODS.
January 2009 sees Deadstar and Black Widow reform Dog Soldiers with ex-members, Psycho, Cerci, Mr Muffin Man and Reaper.
